December 2010

A beta version of Team Fortress 2 is made available to all players who own the game on December 2nd, 2010. It is a stand alone game which must be installed separately. Three variants of Natascha, aiming to better balance her slowdown effect, were tested along with a tweak to Granary and a new 5CP map, 5Gorge

January 2011

The first large-scale experiment was conducted, involving player health. In the first experiment, all health was doubled, while damage dealt against buildings was halved. In the second, classes only gained 25% more health over their normal health and damage against buildings was restored to normal.

February 2011

A large number of weapons underwent tuning, mostly to remove the no random critical hits downside. Two new weapons were also added, the Quick-Fix and Detonator, and combat text was updated to show healing and assist points.

March 2011

The Replay, Coaching, and Voting systems are added for testing. A King of the Hill version of Badlands is added.

April 2011

X new weapons were added: The Beta Pocket Rocket Launcher, Beta Pocket Shotgun, Beta Syringe Gun, Beta Bonesaw, Beta Sniper Rifle, and Beta Sniper Club. The Equalizer was also split into two separate weapons and new response rules were tested.

May 2011

As April's changes started late, no significant changes were made in this month.

June 2011

A new matchmaking feature was added, along with a complete UI revamp for the main menu, loadout, and crafting interfaces.

July 2011

Nothing significant as of yet.
