I'm not sure what the protocol is for suggesting name changes, or if that sort of thing is even possible after an item has been officially released, but I think these should be renamed the Fists of Steel for Boxing or something similar, so that the acronym F.S.B. can be used, which is more in line with the K.G.B. and G.R.U. gloves. - Jjafargi 21:05, 18 December 2010 (UTC)

: F.o.s. fists of steel? Was that so hard? Tryer 04:09, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

:: But F.O.S. does not mean anything.  K.G.B. and G.R.U. were both government organizations in Soviet Russia.  Although, granted, the F.S.B. is post-Soviet era, so the name might not fit well with the established TF2 time frame. - Jjafargi 18:43, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

}}
::: That would be far too confusing for people, we use the name that is shown in-game for the item. If you wish to make a redirect, go ahead, but don't change the name of the item. -- <span style="text-shadow:orange 0px 0px 3px;"><font color="#FF6600"><tt><big><u>Firestorm</u></big></tt></font> mod</span> 18:52, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

:::: Of course, I did not mean to randomly change the name of the article to something that does not exist in-game.  I mean it would be cool if the in-game name changed to something that would fit a Soviet acronym like the first two gloves.  But F.S.B. is too modern anyway, so I suppose the point is rather moot. - Jjafargi 19:10, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

We need to find something out
By ranged attack is it meant bullets or just projectiles? Tryer 04:10, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

:It applies to just about everything that isnt melee, least in my experience with them. Fire dmg, explosive dmg, sentry dmg, etc. Mikau 06:12, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

::I'm not sure if you are correct about that Mikau, but I'm happy to take your word for it as I do not have the item in question :). As such, I have left that section in the description and have only reworded it. Additional confirmation from multiple sources would be desirable for obvious reasons, however. ==Not quite "medieval"==

Hi there, the intro text reads: "They appear as a pair of large, medieval gauntlets that cover the Heavy's hands.". I just wanted to discuss the fact we could remove the "medieval" term here. What do you think of it? In fact, the model has not been created as a medieval weapon but as a robotic one, coming with the complete sound pack making technologic noises. Even if the sounds have been left out when officially released, the skin is still clearly not medieval at all with the dark rubber-like parts and screws. Not a big deal, but since it's all about participating here and as we have a nice place to discuss things like this, I thought I'd mention it. BadDog 05:54, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

:It originally stated robotic (see this edit). I have no idea why it was changed. -- <span style="color:rgb(78, 71, 63); font-family:'TF2 Build', sans-serif;">Netshroud</span> <small>(talk | contribs)</small> 06:00, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

:: Thanks for this answer. I can see the original "Robotic" term is now back. I'm aware that wikis are all about everybody participating, but I just wanted to know, when we see things like this, are we to change the text to what we think best, or is it good etiquette to discuss it here and wait for a global approval from the fellow players? I'm quite new to this, so thanks in advance for your advice!

Recipe
Just double-checking - the recipe is correct, right? It seems to have the same recipe as the heavy set's bear claw gloves, is it a 50% chance?

-- Coldtea 17:38, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

:The blueprints for the two pairs of gloves both include the Gloves of Running Urgently indeed. But if you check closely, the set item named "Warrior's spirit" requires reclaimed metal, whereas the "Fists of Steel" which could be said to be "less important" as they are not featured in a set, only require scrap metal. I double-checked and the recipe featured on the page is correct! Hope this helped! BadDog 11:15, 25 December 2010 (UTC)

If you preferred the old RED Fists....
Lucky you guys. Last week I opened up "team fortress 2 materials.gcf" and extracted every VMT & VTF from materials/models/weapons. Upon seeing the new RED Fists, I immediately RAR'd up the original, darker red Fists and uploaded them to GameBanana. And just incase you want a darker blue Fists skin, I made one a few days ago as well. Here's the original Red Fists skin, and here's my custom darker blue Fists skin. ==RED Fists==

Currently, in the blueprints for the Fists of Steel, the original bright red gauntlets are shown, not the diluted bronze ones. Can we change that? Fyahweather 08:52, 4 May 2011 (UTC)

Need To be Redone in Video
I think It need to be redone again because it doesn't show about 20% slower switch weapon. Hinaomi

:Sigh. You're right, of course. By the way, you should post this at Team_Fortress_Wiki_talk:Weapon_Demonstration#Fists_of_Steel

Fancy vs Nasty Download Link
Along with all of the other Fancy vs Nasty contributions, should we mention the link for the skin in the description or will people find it in the Fancy vs Nasty page? -- <span style="font-family:TF2 Build; color:black ">ScoutKast</span> 01:25, 19 September 2011 (PDT)

Damage over time
Does this reduce damage taken from damage over time effects, such as bleed and afterburn? If it does, does it reduce damage from them only when caused by ranged sources, or does it reduce damage from melee sources as well? Pognet 21:50, 24 August 2012 (PDT)

:That's interesting, I'll check now. Hinaomi <small>(talk) - (contributions)</small> 22:17, 24 August 2012 (PDT)

::It reduces damage from all damage taken over time. If a Heavy is hit with a Sharpened Volcano Fragment, he takes double damage from the axe, but reduced damage from the flame. If a Heavy is hit with a Flare Gun, he takes reduced damage from both the flare projectile and afterburn. == Only Blu Backpack Image? ==

I'm pretty sure this is the only Team Colored item to have a Blu backpack, if so I think it could be added to the trivia section.  Any official word on this?
