There are several different versions of items that may be found in [[Team Fortress 2]]. Some may be rarer than others, Normal items are generally very common, while Vintage, Genuine, and Unusual items may be much rarer and difficult to get.

Currently, aside from the above hats, only the [[Horseless Headless Horsemann's Headtaker]] and [[Haunted Metal Scrap]] can have Unusual quality. Unlike the Unusual hats, the [[Horseless Headless Horsemann's Headtaker]] has no particle effects, making it no different to a normal weapon.

* Due to a glitch with Valve Support, some Unique quality promotional items that have been restored have been given Vintage quality.
 
* It is possible to accumulate kills on the Strange Wrench or Strange Jag by killing yourself with the [[Wrangler]].
