The Guard Dog Update is a fan-made update for an unofficial class, the Guard Dog. The update was mentioned by Valve on the TF2 Official Website on September 21, 2009.[1]

Day One – Team Update

  • The Guard Dog is showcased with three weapons: The Hanger, an SMG-like primary weapon which has at least 100 rounds; The Helper, a device that allows the Guard Dog to carry health and ammo pickups to teammates; and the Hater, a melee weapon which, upon use, causes the Guard Dog to bite an enemy.
  • The Guard Dog possesses two unique skills.
    • The first, "Track'N'Down", would allow players to sniff the fallen weapon or ragdoll of a player and be able to track them down after their respawn regardless of whether they have changed classes or are disguised. This is represented by an arrow located in the upper-left hand of the player's HUD.
    • The Guard Dog's second unique skill is a cooperative taunt, "Jarate Dispenser", which dispenses Jarate to any Sniper player.
