Where's your precious Hippo-crates now?
The Scout

Mann Co. Supply Crates are tool items obtainable only through the item drop system. They can only be unlocked by using Mann Co. Supply Crate Keys, which are only purchasable at the Mann Co. Store for the price of .

When unlocked, the crate yields one of the items listed in its series and is then removed from the player inventory. The crate cannot be crafted, or be used to craft things such as Scrap Metal. Opening a crate is often a gamble for players due to the wide range of contents, although the chance of receiving a hat is fairly high (20-25% approx).

When a crate is opened with a Mann Co. Supply Crate Key, a 5 second timer ticks down, alongside a sound effect of chains jangling and hinges creaking. The item inside is announced to the server in a similar format to regular dropped items.
