Team Fortress 2 Updates
6th Polycount Pack and Unreleased Game Mode
A secret sixth pack and a new game mode were supposed to be released with the Mann-Conomy update. However, both were held back due to undisclosed reasons. However, it was stated that the sixth pack directly relates to the new game mode, and that was the reason that both were held back instead of just one.
ETF2L Highlander Community Challenge & ESL Medals
Eight medals are to be added to the game and given to participants and winners of the ETF2L Highlander Community Challenge and the ESL 6on6 League.
Artpass Contest maps
On the 16th of July, TF2maps.net and Valve announced a contest, in which the participant must detail a map that Valve has made. All maps were to be completed and submitted by September 25th, 2010.
The winners of the contest have been announced (3Dnj and YM), but Valve has yet to release the new maps.[1]
Also, zpqrei of TF2Maps.net has stated on the Steam Forums that he is making a pin to be given to all those who participated. [2]
New demo format
Robin Walker has discussed a new system for recording demos, where a player can request a recording from the server at the end of a life or round. The plan is for the format to be "More robust" so the demos will not become unplayable as easily as the current system when the game is updated.[3] Another goal is to allow people to easily share their videos on video sharing sites.[4]
Open Beta
An Open Beta is coming soon to all Team Fortress 2 owners.
Unreleased Items
In the Mann-Conomy Update the Engineer was the only class to not get a weapon, but a fully textured model was discovered in the GCF of the game. The Item is believed to be called the Jag from the name the file is given in the GCF.
Large Scale Performance Update
Robin Walker discussed with one of the community contributors in an email about a future performance update in the works, replacing all World and View models with the new C model type, and updating existing C models and the new C models with LODs. This update will significantly increase performance and allow for a greater range of community and Valve item replacements in later updates.
Major updates for the Xbox 360
The last official mention of any class/other major updates (containing new items, maps, etc.) for the Xbox 360 version of Team Fortress 2 was on April 2, 2009. There are two main reasons as to why the content has not been released. Firstly, due to reaching or coming close to reaching the memory limit that the Xbox 360 possesses. Secondly, due to the fees Microsoft have put in place for adding content to games, using Microsoft's very own Live on-line market store. These fees have been calculated and estimated to cost Valve over one hundred thousand dollars to update the Xbox 360 version of Team Fortress 2. in the same manner and fashion that the PC version has received the class and patch updates. Therefore, some expect the updates and patches to be released for the Xbox 360 once Valve has finished and finalized all of the class updates, therefore allowing them to group all of the updates and patches in one large group and content update. Yet even after all of the class updates have been released no official word has been released as to when the update will arrive.

Poker Night at the Inventory
“ | ” |
On August 28, 2010, a trailer for a new project by Telltale Games was released on Gametrailers. It was revealed on September 2, 2010, as Poker Night at the Inventory, and is, as the title implies, a poker game featuring the Heavy alongside characters from other franchises entirely, such as Max (from the Sam & Max series), Strong Bad (from Homestar Runner), and Tycho Brahe (from Penny Arcade). Characters banter amongst each other, and even place wagers involving their property; Max can wager his gun, while the Heavy can wager Sasha. Telltale reportedly obtained the Heavy's model one month before the trailer.
