RE: Picture Widths
Sorry it took so long to reply to this, i will remember about picture widths and excess space when i contribute images in the near future, sorry for any inconvenience. Ermac And Cheese 13:04, 21 January 2013 (PST)
- Next time, please respond on your own talk page so the discussion doesn't get lost. Darkid (|) 13:05, 21 January 2013 (PST)
Dictionary Project
Welp I just finished demoman (finally). I'll reserve probably spy (not sure if your working on engineer). :D Ashes 00:40, 29 November 2012 (PST)
- Gotcha. I wasn't reserving engie, I'd just done some work on it. I'm working on the heavy weapons guy right now. Darkid (|) 06:05, 29 November 2012 (PST)
- Welp due to me not having anything to do i'll reserve sniper. And maybe finish up Engineer for ya. Ashes 16:31, 5 January 2013 (PST)
- Kay so!, All other dictionary achievements now have links. Astro was rather quick due to hardly anything to link. All thats left is for you to finish the heavy ones :P. So I basically just stole your project :D. Ashes 23:04, 13 February 2013 (PST)
- Eh well I dun mind. I've got other projects, too. :) Regardless, I'll get to working on heavy some time soon. (I don't have external changes saved, though). Darkid (|) 07:40, 14 February 2013 (PST)
Test
This is a test.
Categories o.o
Heyo was browsing wanted categories and what not and i noticed these. [1]and [2]
Wasn't sure if its intentionally that you named them that or you meant to categorize them elsewhere. Ashes 14:03, 22 March 2013 (PDT)
- Stupidity. I was doing something along the lines of [[Category:Self-illuminated/{{subst:SUBPAGENAME}}]] so that I could copy-paste onto language pages; obviously this failed in the english case. Darkid (|) 14:07, 22 March 2013 (PDT)
- Ah k, Cause it struck me odd when i saw those in the list. Well least we cleared that up! :P Ashes 14:09, 22 March 2013 (PDT)
Template renaming
You know you can poot dis work to WindBOT if you want. —Moussekateer·talk 16:26, 5 May 2013 (PDT)
- ORLY. Tell me how :D Darkid (|) 16:47, 5 May 2013 (PDT)
- You could edit this filter and and all the language variations for each template....or you could write a filter like dis (but I would check with Wind in case there's a better way):
def langsTemplateRenameMapping(t, **kwargs): templateMap = { 'Pyro Nav': 'pyro nav/[\w]+' } for n in templateMap: langTemplateRe = compileRegex(templateMap[n]) if langTemplateRe.match(t.getName().lower()): t.setName(n) return t addTemplateFilter(langsTemplateRenameMapping)
—Moussekateer·talk 17:10, 5 May 2013 (PDT)
- This did happen, but it should be noted that non-admins cannot edit WindBOT's filters, for security reasons. Darkid (|) 04:02, 7 May 2013 (PDT)

I really thanks for ou to update that Template:Dictionary/quad, but don't forget to do the misc section. Rikka Takanashi (talk) • (contributions) 09:34, 21 May 2013 (PDT)
- I won't, I just want to wait for windBOT to poosh changes so I can fix those issues. I also have to eat lunch around now :P Darkid (|) 09:35, 21 May 2013 (PDT)
- I've finished the Hats and miscs up to pyro. I'm waiting for your edits on demoman (etc) miscellaneous items before I push forward--unless you'd like me to do those too. Darkid (|) 19:20, 21 May 2013 (PDT)

May 28, 2013 Patch
We don't create patch pages for schema updates only. These changes will be included in a future patch anyway. —Moussekateer·talk 16:01, 28 May 2013 (PDT)
Dec template and common string
You may want to look at this diff. If the dec template is used on a number (for example on the weapons list template) then it tries to evaluate 0,4 < 1.1 which errors out. The number needs to be formatted after this evaluation, and not before. I don't have time today to look at this so if you want to have a look. —Moussekateer·talk 02:54, 5 June 2013 (PDT)
- The goal of this template was to switch "seconds" and "second". So, I have changed the dictionary to reflect this, by putting in an #ifeq: expression to compare the parameter to the language appropriate phrase (1.0 or 1,0). This can be changed to compare against 1 as well. Darkid (|) 05:40, 5 June 2013 (PDT)

Figures Promo
I've seen your effort in trying to make this stuff work, but Dictionary will not work if it tries to find something inside it. You need to move the {{{2}}} {{{3}}} thingies to Common Strings or other Dictionary pages if you want them to work correctly with "template:item name". Proof. by Limie Pie 10:51, 17 June 2013 (PDT)
- It's a problem with the
{{Item name}}
template, which is that it isn't configured to take parameters. I have thus moved the strings to Common Strings. Thanks! Darkid (|) 11:50, 17 June 2013 (PDT)
Item icons
Item icon images have to be 512 × 384 pixels. You have uploaded 2 512 x 512 pixel images. Please consider this next time you wish to upload item icon images. Thank you. – Smashman (talk) 18:09, 19 June 2013 (PDT)
- Ah, sorry. Should I crop them next time? Darkid (|) 18:12, 19 June 2013 (PDT)
- Please do. Also your talk page doesn't seem to work correctly. :S – Smashman (talk) 18:28, 19 June 2013 (PDT)
- It works fine, it just doesn't have edit section links. Since each new talk page post is added to the bottom, I thought it would be ok. Darkid (|) 19:02, 19 June 2013 (PDT)
- It's always missing the latest message. That seems like a whole load of not working to me... – Smashman (talk) 19:04, 19 June 2013 (PDT)
- Refresh the page. It takes more than a second to purge, but less than 5. Darkid (|) 19:05, 19 June 2013 (PDT)
- Still falls under my definition of not working. If it's not showing messages, it's not working. Also have no edit sections is rather annoying. Nobody wants to scroll through an entire page of text to get to where they want to edit. That's why section editing exists! – Smashman (talk) 19:06, 19 June 2013 (PDT)
- The edit link (combined with control/apple-down) will fix this. I will look into this in the future, when I find the time. Again, it is showing messages. It simply takes more than a second. Darkid (|) 19:08, 19 June 2013 (PDT)

I shall explain it in full, then. I have, as a side project, set up my userpage (talkpage, projects page, etc) in such a way that, via a custom header, they can be switched between with merely CSS switching (as I am not allowed to add custom CSS, this had to be done with built-in templates). Relatedly, I felt that displaying two headers was redundant, as the header is at the top of the page anyways. That is a setting which can be changed. However, due to problems with anchor tags, it is not possible to display an TOCs on these pages, nor to use section links. In order to prevent someone, say, clicking on an edit section link and it failing on them (as it would), I have instead merely removed the edit section links altogether. Adding sections does still work, as do the edit buttons at the top of the page as well as the edit button within the header. I'm surprised that you have to purge, I haven't seen any other browsers on my end (nor heard any other people having issues) with that particularly. There is no easy fix for that, since the whole setup is constructed with templates. Darkid (|) 19:18, 19 June 2013 (PDT)
- Notice Moussekater talking about precisely the same problem a little while ago. "On an unrelated note what the heck is your talk page all about. It has to be purged and I can't edit sections ._." To me this whole project of yours seems pointless, perhaps even harmful. I doubt anyone who visits a single page of yours wants to download a bonus 6 (not even small) pages... – Smashman (talk) 19:36, 19 June 2013 (PDT)
- Yes, I know. I'm aware that it's not the most comprehensive, thus I am working on it. In the meantime, I apologize for the inconvenience and extra load times. Darkid (|) 19:44, 19 June 2013 (PDT)
Primarily, BASEPAGENAME and BASEPAGENAMEE fulfil two differing roles. The extra E formats the text into a more robust format. It was not a spelling error, which should have been evident by the fact that it was working. Secondly, the Category:ERROR page does not update unless you edit the page. Thirdly, there is absolutely no need to save a BASEPAGENAME check. Simply previewing suffices. I'm glad I caught your modification to {{Major updates nav}}
as I spent a while fixing the error that was previously occurring. Please check before you 'fix' that which is not broken. Thank you. – Smashman (talk) 18:58, 21 June 2013 (PDT)
- If you could keep discussion centralized, that would be easier to read :) I was not thinking it was a spelling error, as I've said on your talk page. With your permission, I would like to move the above onto your userpage for readability. Darkid (|) 19:00, 21 June 2013 (PDT)
- I begun to write this before I was aware that you had left me message. For that reason, I deny permission. But we can continue the discussion there if you wish. I am fully aware of keeping a discussion upon the same page. – Smashman (talk) 19:04, 21 June 2013 (PDT)

Congrats on your wiki cap nomination!
I just wanted to be the first to congratulate you! I'm a newb, so I kinda look up to nominees in general, but you in particular stood out to me. Would you mind showing me around the wiki, helping me with code, syntax, and whatnot? It'd be an honor to work with you. I just know you'll earn that wiki cap!
