This could be a reference to Meet the Soldier, the BLU Spy has his teeth smashed out. It seems team does not matter since the Smissmas story was also with the BLU team.

Objection!
In Page 39, Soldier objects to the Scout in a strange way.

For one, the large font and red outline around the speech indicates very loud shouting. And also, the pose the Soldier objects in bears a striking resemblance to Phoenix Wright's Objection Pose. Now, this may be an utter coincidence, but it is a possibility that the two are related... Right..? ProfessorHeavy (talk) 13:17, 6 December 2013 (PST)

:I think you are right. It's a c however these as- kind people are keep deleting it so I give it up to insert it. Until someone convience them, it's need to be putted there Kori1997 (talk) 10:32, 20 May 2014 (PDT)

::I wouldn't consider a common pose and a common phrase as a reference to Phoenix Wright. Well, they're both pointing at something and shouting "Objection", but that's not a good proof for the reference, since it's very vague. Add the trivia when the author/writer marks them as a reference.

:::Let me put it another way. The objection position is a trope, a cliche, established long before there was ever a Phoenix Wright. There is nothing strange about Soldier's pose -- it is cliche. If anything, Phoenix Wright capitalizes on that cliche, and that being the case, of course Phoenix Wright will resemble any other character striking a pose following that same cliche. I see too many points of difference between Soldier's pose and Phoenix Wright's to see any connection other than the common cliche. Seriously how is it not relevant that what he uses is very similar to this workshop item? It could be a possible hint of what's in an upcoming update.--Mann Co. Orange is awesome (talk) 04:06, 17 December 2013 (PST)

: It is more likely just a coincidence that they are similar, a shiv made out of a tooth brush isn't exactly an original idea. Plus, Valve did say that these comics aren't to do with any updates. --Omolong (talk) 05:07, 17 December 2013 (PST)

Thoughts about trivia piece
"Although the RED Scout refers to the events of A Smissmas Story, that comic featured the BLU mercenaries instead. Likewise, the RED Spy is stated in Meet the Spy to be in a relationship with the BLU Scout's mother, but it is implied in this issue that he is in a relationship with the RED Scout's mother; this may be from the A Fate Worse Than Chess comic, where the teams merged into a single one."

Actually, I think it works differently in the comics than in the games.

In the comics, we only ever see one of each character at a time.

I think in the comic universe, there is one of each character, and they switch teams based on who's paying them more, so rather than there being a bunch of people who look and talk alike, they just switch teams often (the Spy might be an exception in the WAR update comic).

There is no evidence that there is more than one of each team member (plus they have individual names) and the only time we see other engineers (Blood Brothers) they look different than the game Engineer. --PyroGothNerd (talk) 19:39, 8 April 2014 (PDT)

Incorrect trivia?
"On pages 12 and 13, young Saxton Hale pronounces "Zoo" as though he thinks it's spelled "Zhou." This is a reference to Meet the Soldier, where the Soldier gives a wildly misinformed lecture on the history of warfare. According to the Soldier, Sun Tzu put two of every animal on a boat "and then he beat the crap out of every single one! And from that day forward, any time a bunch of animals are together in one place it's called a 'Zhou'! Unless it's a farm!""

According to the Meet_the_Soldier script, the last part is "it's called a 'zoo'!", not a 'Zhou'. ⇒ Anyar (talk/contributions/giveaway) 19:45, 8 April 2017 (PDT)

: Fair catch, maybe. Yes, the "Zhou" spelling is not explicitly stated anywhere else(?) in the media.

: * Sun Tzu is pronounced /ˌsuːnˈdzuː/; but, Zhou is pronounced like the English name "Joe".

: * There is a Zhuang Zhou; no relation.

: * There is the Zhou dynasty; again, no relation.

: But it could have been a reference, I am not psychic. Why else would it be so marked? Speculation: They could have been relying on American Vulgate pronunciation. It could be deleted on grounds of speculation or on grounds or observation if you make either case. Mikado282 (talk) 13:59, 9 April 2017 (PDT)

::Yeah, someone may have thought Zhou was pronouncned "Zhoo" instead of "Zhoe". I doubt it's a reference. I'll edit it now. ⇒ Anyar (talk/contributions/giveaway) 09:09, 10 April 2017 (PDT)

::: But, if it is not a reference, then there's no trivia, just observation. Your edit still leaves the excessive recapitulation of Soldier's dialog, as well as the unnecessary speculation. Suppose, it is changed to

:::: "On page 12, young Saxton Hale's dialog reads "Zhou" where "Zoo" is expected. This refers to Soldier's lecture on Sun Tzu in Meet the Soldier, with an erroneous assumption that Tzu and Zhou both sound like Zoo. In standard Chinese, Zhou is pronounced like the English name Joe."

::: I avoided wiggle words, but it is still speculation, and just enough observation that I would not be against deletion. Mikado282 (talk) 16:29, 11 April 2017 (PDT)

::::That's a great idea. I wrote "tentative edit" for my summary because I didn't think it was perfect yet but didn't know how to improve without deleting it all. Alright, I'll make the edit and tweak it a bit. ⇒ Anyar (talk/contributions/giveaway) 16:40, 11 April 2017 (PDT)

Page 43 - Geneology
Rereading Unhappy Returns I noticed that on Page 43 Miss Pauling mentions the word 'geneology' although this seems to be misspelled on the page. (I checked, the correct spelling is genealogy, although geneology is a common mistake). Is this worth adding in the notes section?
