::As I stated on [[Team Fortress Wiki:Discussion|the discussion board]], Festive is not an item quality at all. The "festive" prefix in a Festive weapon's name isn't a prefix at all. Strange Quality items.

It appears that any weapon from a crate is now a strange weapon, We need to fully explore these new weapons to see if they have any other unique characteristics--Nintyuk 04:25, 24 June 2011 (PDT)

There aren't any. They count kills and "level up"; seems to be the limit of their functionality. ~ Ath (talk) 04:43, 24 June 2011 (PDT)

Strange quality items have their killcount reset when traded. --Phaser Rave 13:57, 25 June 2011 (PDT)

The Chargin Targe doesn't appear to tally any kills even if you kill with the charge, probably because it's not an active weapon, but a passive one. I haven't submitted a bug report on this yet, so if anyone wants to, be my guest. The Riet 18:05, 25 June 2011 (PDT)

There needs to be a full list of all the weapons. It seems some weapons do not have a "strange" counterpart. Havox 03:05, 12 July 2011 (PDT)

There is a full list and it's been available since the Strange weapons were added to the game. Click here. 404 User Not Found 08:06, 12 July 2011 (PDT)
The list isnt available at that link (as of my check just now) FRIENDLYUNIT 23:44, 7 August 2011 (PDT)

The article stated that "Strange quality weapons can be found by unboxing Mann Co. Supply Crates of a certain series" ... I'm now editing to reflect Nintyuk's statement above that all weaponss from crates come out strange. Edit back if that statement is wrong. FRIENDLYUNIT 23:44, 7 August 2011 (PDT)

  • Only series >19 have strange quality (crates added during/after the Uber Update), but someone said "do not re-add the list of Crate Series #'s that contain Strange weapons" in the comments._. So I'll just revert it, I guess. Rocket Ship BBQ 10:30, 8 August 2011 (PDT)

Unusual weapons?

I've seen several people requesting unusual weapons on trading sites, but I have yet to see anyone with one. Do they actually exist? -- Swarfega  T  C  13:29, 26 June 2011 (PDT)

Nope. Well not for now anyway. User Moussekateer signature sprite.pngMoussekateer·talk 13:30, 26 June 2011 (PDT)
Strange so why are people asking for them? -- Swarfega  T  C  13:32, 26 June 2011 (PDT)
Often times, people will use Unusual rarity, then leave something in the notes like "Ignore "Unusual" rarity, I'm looking for Strange" or something, as most trading sites such as the TF2 Trading Post don't have "Strange" rarity in the system yet. At least, that's what I did when I put in a trade on the trading post for Strange weapons. I selected "Unusual" 404 User Not Found 13:37, 26 June 2011 (PDT)
I guess so, but Ive seen plenty with no comments, I guess theyre just assuming the pros know what they mean. Thanks guys. -- Swarfega  T  C  13:38, 26 June 2011 (PDT)
Technically, there is one Unusual weapon, but it's fairly common due to how easy it is to trade for one or obtain the components needed to craft it. ButteredToast 05:38, 1 August 2011 (PDT)

Strange Weapon Drops

While I have no good solid evidence, I have heard a few people say they actually had strange weapons drop for them. Has anyone seen some more solid evidence of this being the case?

It may be another instance of that bug where people got Scrap/Reclaimed/Refined Metal as a "drop", when in actuality it was the crafting system or something failing to properly give the metal. This might be the case with the crates. People may not have received the weapon properly from the crate and then later obtained it as a drop. 404 User Not Found 18:24, 29 June 2011 (PDT)

Strange bug

How would I proceed if I were to add a bug to the strange quality section?

Since it's limited to one weapon, should I add it to that particular weapon or in this page? -- Mistah Phoenix (talk) 17:17, 20 July 2011 (PDT)

My instinct would be to put it on its own page, specifying that the item is Strange. I'm not entirely sure, but this is supported by the lack of a 'Bugs' section on this page. Shane Alvarado 17:26, 20 July 2011 (PDT)
Shane is correct, such information is not relevant to the description of item qualities; and should be placed on the weapon page in question, citing the strange requirement for reproduction. ~ Ath (talk) 08:10, 21 July 2011 (PDT)

Is it easier to read?

Well I seen update in this page but I think it's harder to read. Does anyone think like me? Hinaomi 06:53, 28 July 2011 (PDT)

No it isn't just you. The only thing the previous edits did was desynchronize the color table and backpack examples. It has since been undone. -- Lagg Backpack Stickybomb Launcher.png 07:54, 28 July 2011 (PDT)

Vintage Quality First Distribution

I'm not sure, but before I go ahead and edit, wasn't it all items that you had before the Mann-Conomy update that became vintage, and not just "certain items"? The preceding unsigned comment was added by Rocket Ship BBQ (talk) • (contribs)

Nope, It wasn't. Otherwise there would be many Vintage metals, 119 badges and so on. Also, don't forget to sign your messages with four tildes. (~~~~) ~ Ath (talk) 08:32, 1 August 2011 (PDT)

Customized Weapons?

I was playing a game of arena_granary, and a bunch of people had customized weapons. The names were a bright green, and they had different stats

Here's a pic as proof, with a Medic wielding a Customized Crusader's Crossbow

http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/541775700440613177/17199E2671692E34827857FB63A8882FAA3AAFE5/

Anyone know what these are? This was the first time i've seen them, and the wiki doesn't mentioned anything about Customized quality-MKCSTEALTH 06:24, 5 August 2011 (PDT)

It's an unused quality. You were playing on a server that was running a plugin to customize weapon attributes and quality. User Moussekateer signature sprite.pngMoussekateer·talk 07:43, 5 August 2011 (PDT)

Ah ok. Thanks-MKCSTEALTH 08:39, 5 August 2011 (PDT)

See! I told you guys the quality color of Customized was green due to a bug in the source engine. And yet the table lists it as Vintage. I think it was Pilk who changed it to Vintage-colored. 404 User Not Found 13:06, 5 August 2011 (PDT)
Yeah, It's lime green colored. I saw it in VS Saxton Hale mod. Hinaomi 19:16, 5 August 2011 (PDT)
Since no one wants to understand that we do this according to the tuples in the HUD files and not just what you happen to see with your eyes I took a screenshot of ClientScheme.res' relevant tuples. Note the highlighted line. Pilk's edit is correct, do not change it: File:User Lagg seriously.png -- Lagg Backpack Stickybomb Launcher.png 15:31, 7 August 2011 (PDT)
^I hate to point this out (especially to a Wiki Cap owner), but, please, I beg you, be considerate. Not everyone edits HUDs. This isn't SPUF. :( Rocket Ship BBQ 15:42, 7 August 2011 (PDT)
Me having a wiki cap does not make me immune to criticism. Don't worry about it, but I will say that this page comes very close to be technical documentation (but we still make a point to not cross that line). Because of that those that wish to make changes need to have some level of knowledge of the files in the GCFs. In fact it is a prerequisite and this page could not exist in the state it does now if we simply went by in-game observations. -- Lagg Backpack Stickybomb Launcher.png 19:32, 7 August 2011 (PDT)
Yeah, but they do have a point. Sorry, I found your statement rather harsh. Rocket Ship BBQ 19:57, 7 August 2011 (PDT)
I'm a harsh person when warnings and clear explanations are not paid attention to. If I wasn't nothing would get done. If you have a problem with it take it to my talk page, otherwise keep this talk page on topic. -- Lagg Backpack Stickybomb Launcher.png 11:09, 8 August 2011 (PDT)
As I said to you before, Lagg (or was it Pilk that I said this to? Oh well, I'll say it again). Yes, Customized uses the Vintage color, but there's an error ingame where Customized shows up as neon green. It's a well-documented error. 404 User Not Found 14:29, 8 August 2011 (PDT)
I'm well aware of the bug. Which is why I noted that how we document it here is correct and took a screenshot of the relevant .res block where the tuples were. If you feel that it absolutely must be mentioned make a footnote for it near the color table but do not change the table's RGB value. -- Lagg Backpack Stickybomb Launcher.png 08:56, 9 August 2011 (PDT)

Trade Bug for Strange Weapons

Just discovered that if you trade the new strange weapons, not all the stats correctly reset. For example I just trade for a strange medigun, the ubers reset but the assists did not. CartooN 06:51, 19 August 2011 (PDT)

"Completed" Qualities

In the August 18, 2011 Patch, there's an undocumented change saying: "Added string for potential new item quality called 'Completed'". Can anyone confirm this and possibly make a template or wait until Valve releases further info? -BLU Fancy Fedora.png Aom776 11:41, 2 September 2011 (PDT)

You can confirm it by searching for "Completed" in tf_english.txt; there is no need for a template because as the change says, it's a "potential" quality - it does not yet exist. ~ Ath (talk) 12:16, 2 September 2011 (PDT)
Completed quality was added to the beta. How about now? Kodiak 7 20:02, 23 September 2011 (PDT)
Any thing can be in the beta, e.g. "All classes have double Health". Beta means nothing to the actual game (IMO). User M-NINJA Signature.png 20:11, 23 September 2011 (PDT)

New Strange Colours

Is there a hex code for them yet? I am not sure if they accept embedded images here, but here is the new colour: newstrangecolour.png Krakash 15:54, 2 September 2011 (PDT)

Community weapons description

I think Valve removed the description "Given to valuable Community Contributors" on community weapons, but i don't know when. Please can someone confirm this? Thanks.Plumpkins 13:57, 17 September 2011 (PDT)

The description wasn't removed, only the implementation for attaching it was changed. ~ Ath (talk) 11:28, 18 September 2011 (PDT)

Article Future

Well since each quality now has it's own article, the short summaries here seem rather redundant. This page could probably be deleted, but I think it'd be better in this case if was changed into a small stub regarding what Quality is as a concept, and covering the fine details. There is much misinformation regarding Quality, an explanation would probably be very helpful. Thoughts? ~ Ath (talk) 17:08, 25 September 2011 (PDT)

It could be useful. I suppose, in a sense, it would be like deleting the Weapons page, because there are articles for each individual weapon already. Shane Alvarado 12:50, 3 October 2011 (PDT)

You Beta Add This

Does anyone think we should add the Beta quality to this page?--Scout Decal Black.png ScoutKast 20:44, 26 September 2011 (PDT)

Beta isn't a quality... User Moussekateer signature sprite.pngMoussekateer·talk 20:51, 26 September 2011 (PDT)
um...err...hmm...yeah...you're right, it isn't. Sorry, I though it was because the font for it in the tags was light green. Never mind. --Scout Decal Black.png ScoutKast 20:55, 26 September 2011 (PDT)

Completed

Recently the quality "Completed" was added to the beta, I think it's related to strange weapons, should this be added? Untouch 07:36, 3 October 2011 (PDT)

It is in Beta, not in the main game, so it shouldn't be there. And no speculations, of course DrAkcel (T | C) 07:38, 3 October 2011 (PDT)
To elaborate on this quality, I reinstalled the TF2 Beta, and checked ClientScheme.res for the "Completed" quality RGB values, and found "134 80 172". I popped those numbers into Photoshop and created this image:
completedrarity.png
I don't remember the hex color code for the color, but that image above is what color the quality is. I rather like the color. 404: User Not Found (talk) 18:11, 7 October 2011 (PDT)

Festive

Does "Festive" count as a item quality? The preceding unsigned comment was added by Damian0358 (talk) • (contribs)

Not really; festive weapons can also be strange. —User Rocket Ship BBQ Awesomepyro.pngRocket Ship BBQ(Speech voice.pngIntel neutral pickedup.png) 16:11, 23 December 2011 (PST)
As I stated on the discussion board, Festive is not an item quality at all. The "festive" prefix in a Festive weapon's name isn't a prefix at all. It's actually the weapons name (for example Festive Bat is actually the item's name). Before I had found this article, I was originally pushing to get Festive weapons into their own separate articles. But yes, to conclude this reply, Festive is not an item quality at all. It's part of the weapons item name. 404: User Not Found (talk) 16:34, 23 December 2011 (PST)
One more question, are the "Festive" weapons "Unique"? (because how the words are colored)
