Paint Cans are items that allow you to change the color scheme of hats. Paint cans were implemented in the Mann-Conomy Update on September 30, 2010. They come in several colors, all but two can be bought in the Mann Co. store, or found in regular gameplay via random drops, with the final 2, Black and White, being only found by unboxing a Mann Co. Supply Crate.

Non-paintable items

Currently all hats can be painted using the Paint Can, with the exception of those listed below. No Miscellaneous items can be painted with the sole exception of the Physician's Procedure Mask.
