On April 1, 2019, the Canteen Crasher campaign servers were overtaken by the Memes vs Machines missions. Maps previously used in Potato's Custom MvM Servers were reused with meme waves.
In keeping with the short duration of the community event, one simple, short Tour was offered, rather than a extensive Campaign. Originally planned as lasting only a week, the Tour was extended to April 16 as "Memes vs Machines 2", owing to the strong community participation, which nearly continuously occupied over 50 servers the first week.[1]
Players were awarded an Operation: Memes vs Machines, April Fools Participant Medal for 60 minutes of successful wave time; successful referring to the requirement that time played in any wave only counted if the player both started and completed the full wave. Individual progressed was tracked on the Potato.tf website only if the player was logged on to the site (through Steam) and joined the event games only though the website. Time was counted only once for completion of any wave. Canteen Crasher will continue until the May 30, 2019.
