Featured articles Click here to nominate an article

This project is for determining which articles should be classified as featured articles. Featured articles exemplify some of the best written and most informational articles on Team Fortress Wiki that adhere to the featured article criteria. Before submitting a page for featured article review, nominators may wish to first receive feedback by listing the article for open review. Nominators are expected to make an effort to correct any objections that arise. Nominators are also expected to respond regularly to the article discussion, and adjust accordingly to constructive criticism. In order for an article to be promoted, a consensus must be reached that it meets the criteria. Consensus is built among reviewers and nominators. Consensus is determined by the featured article project leader (currently Smashman) Once consensus has been reached, the article will either be marked as a featured article by the project leader, or a list of the criteria that the article fails to meet will be listed. Nomination procedure Before nominating an article, please ensure that it meets all of the featured article criteria. If there have been no previous nominations for the article, or if the previous nominations have been archived, proceed to the next step. If a nomination is already in process, please use the current one. Create a new sub-section under the Nominated articles on the nominations page, with a link to the page as the section title. Don't forget to include your initial reasoning for the nomination. Add the {{Featured article candidate}} template to the top of the article's talk page. Supporting and Objecting Please read a nominated article fully before deciding to support or oppose a nomination. To respond to a nomination, click the "Edit" link to the right of the article nomination (do not use the edit link for the whole page). To support a nomination, write *'''Support''', followed by your reason(s). If you have been a significant contributor to the article, please indicate this. To oppose a nomination, write *'''Object''' or *'''Oppose''', followed by the reason(s). Each objection must provide a specific rationale that can be addressed. If nothing can be done in principle to address the objection, the project leader may ignore it. Reviewers who object are strongly encouraged to return after a few days to check whether their objection has been addressed. To withdraw the objection, strike it out (with <s> ... </s>) rather than removing it. If a nominator feels that the matter has been addressed, they should say so rather than striking out the reviewer's text. Featured articles Featured articles exemplify some of the best-written and most informational articles on Team Fortress Wiki. Featured articles must adhere to the featured article criteria below. Probably not a very contentious suggestion overall, but I'm just going to outline everything quickly so that we're properly following the guidelines here. I'd also be curious to see if there's anything in particular others wanted to pinpoint, before it is potentially accepted into the rotation. Will outline some similar info to the most recent nomination (made for Pyro), since it's largely relevant here as well. Obviously the nine classes of TF2 are hugely important articles to this wiki, and should be some of our most forward-facing pages when users land on the Main page. There are only two classes not currently in the featured rotation - Scout and Demoman. With regards to the featured pages for other classes: The Scout article follows the same format and contains all the comprehensive information one would expect. It's well written, properly styled and very much a stable page. It has all the expected referential and informational media, which has been used in an appropriate manner. And finally, it's well-linked to various categories and pages around the wiki. Let me know if there's anything within the article that could potentially be cleaned up or expanded, I'd be more than happy to add to the improvement effort if needed. Same as Scout. — Tark 03:01, 11 September 2024 (UTC) Eureka Effect The Eureka Effect is a very interesting weapon for the Engineer with a very useful caracteristic: the ability to teleport either to your base or your exit teleporter. Modifing, at least a little bit, the playstyle of the Engi and given the player more mobility and different ways to play with. My reasons to nominate this article are the following: The article is well written Gives players useful information about the weapon The media used is very informative and is properly made, as expected Introduce the weapon to newer players With nothing more to say, I would like to see this article featured on the front page since is a very well written article and the weapons itself is cool and interesting to use, even tho I don't play Engineer that much. — The preceding unsigned comment was added by BIOS (talk) • (contribs) 21:56 CEST, 30 November 2023  On hold. Finish the {{needimage}} request. — Tark 03:01, 11 September 2024 (UTC) Bumper Cars I'd like to make the case that Bumper Cars should be a Featured Article after the overhaul from Kibblekip. This turned from a very small page to a much bigger and well-written article that covers its functionality extensively, as well as covering minor things like the HUD, achievements, the associated spells, and a fun quote. The fun quote is not necessarily relevant, I just like Merasmus a lot. I believe this page, although small, should become a featured article. I'm in agreement though that it may be better to feature the Magic spells page instead (or as well as) due to the shared information between them. It could use some images of the classes, maybe even a 3D view or video showcasing the controllers/movement/spells. — Tark 03:01, 11 September 2024 (UTC) I'd be in support of adding Bumper Cars to the video demonstration project page potentially, and create a demonstration video to show off the bumper cars and the mechanics/spells used by them? I'm unsure if the spells portion would conflict with the existing demonstration for the Spellbook Magazine, but it seems that demonstration does not include bumper car spells anyway. As mentioned too, a 3D-view of the bumper cars would certainly be a nice-to-have as well (images with the classes would be good for showing the different body proportions). Hoog support TheGuy299 04:05, 24 December 2012 (PST)  Support Given that a merge proposal has been made regarding the RED and BLU articles, I think it appropriate to revisit the FA status of RED and BLU. The argument for merge is that the articles are redundant. A counter-argument is that that very redundancy is fundamental to the themes of the articles. If the two articles are intentionally so similar, and if the decision falls against the merge, then BLU should have at least a brief, if long overdue, stint as featured article if only to complete the intended symmetry. I've made some progress on making the RED and BLU pages more consistent with one another (and will continue to do so). If the RED page is Featured Article material, then it follows that the BLU one should be too, since they're basically identical. It also makes a lot of sense, since RED and BLU are some of the most fundamental hallmarks of TF2 - they should both be featured equally, especially since the game favours neither side. To me, it's just a standard cosmetic page that has a lot of styles for every class available. Beyond the extensive descriptions, I don't see much that stands out to make it especially well linked, informative or referential compared to similarly complete cosmetic pages from the update such as the More Gun Marshal or the Cabinet Mann. I did notice that the images need to be redone according to the article itself, so I don't think it's really ready yet regardless.
