Strange Quality items.

It appears that any weapon from a crate is now a strange weapon, We need to fully explore these new weapons to see if they have any other unique characteristics--Nintyuk 04:25, 24 June 2011 (PDT)

There aren't any. They count kills and "level up"; seems to be the limit of their functionality. ~ Ath (talk) 04:43, 24 June 2011 (PDT)

Strange quality items have their killcount reset when traded. --Phaser Rave 13:57, 25 June 2011 (PDT)

The Chargin Targe doesn't appear to tally any kills even if you kill with the charge, probably because it's not an active weapon, but a passive one. I haven't submitted a bug report on this yet, so if anyone wants to, be my guest. The Riet 18:05, 25 June 2011 (PDT)

Unusual weapons?

I've seen several people requesting unusual weapons on trading sites, but I have yet to see anyone with one. Do they actually exist? -- Swarfega  T  C  13:29, 26 June 2011 (PDT)

Nope. Well not for now anyway. User Moussekateer signature sprite.pngMoussekateer·talk 13:30, 26 June 2011 (PDT)
Strange so why are people asking for them? -- Swarfega  T  C  13:32, 26 June 2011 (PDT)
Often times, people will use Unusual rarity, then leave something in the notes like "Ignore "Unusual" rarity, I'm looking for Strange" or something, as most trading sites such as the TF2 Trading Post don't have "Strange" rarity in the system yet. At least, that's what I did when I put in a trade on the trading post for Strange weapons. I selected "Unusual" 404 User Not Found 13:37, 26 June 2011 (PDT)
I guess so, but Ive seen plenty with no comments, I guess theyre just assuming the pros know what they mean. Thanks guys. -- Swarfega  T  C  13:38, 26 June 2011 (PDT)

Strange Weapon Drops

While I have no good solid evidence, I have heard a few people say they actually had strange weapons drop for them. Has anyone seen some more solid evidence of this being the case?

It may be another instance of that bug where people got Scrap/Reclaimed/Refined Metal as a "drop", when in actuality it was the crafting system or something failing to properly give the metal. This might be the case with the crates. People may not have received the weapon properly from the crate and then later obtained it as a drop. 404 User Not Found 18:24, 29 June 2011 (PDT)
