Points are the basic scoring unit of Team Fortress 2, points are awarded for different successful offensive and defensive actions. Performing these actions will also often earn a voice response from the class you are playing.
Points can be given in fractions. However, these will not show on the scoreboard until a whole number is reached.
How to Earn Them

Killing a Medic who is actively healing a target | 1 (in addition to kill point for a total of 2) |
Stunning an enemy with a baseball | 1 (2 points for a long range stun) |
Pyro | |
Extinguishing a team mate | 1 |
Heavy | |
Healing (Sandvich/Dalokohs Bar) | 1 for every 600 health points healed |
Giving a teammate a dropped Sandvich | 1 |
Engineer | |
Teleporter use | 1/2 |
