家用破壞者是一個Ｐｙｒｏ的肉搏武器。它是一個需要雙手來拿的大錘。
攻擊時，基本上可以對Engineer的buildings造成框被傷害。家用破壞者也可以摧毀正在破壞我方建築的電子工兵。不過家用破壞者並不可以修復建築。此外，家用破壞者只能對敵人造成７５％的傷害。
雖然現在火焰噴射器對建築的傷害增加了，但是家用破壞者可以更快拆除補給器和傳送點。但是要拆除步哨防禦槍 就得費一點功夫，因為步哨有擊退功能knockback。所以Pyro藉助Medic的力量話應該可以拆除的掉大部分的步哨防禦槍，更何況ÜberCharge。
傷害

家用破壞者可以在兩擊之內拆除所有建築物(迷你步哨槍只要一擊),前提是攻擊時建築並沒有被修復，還有沒受到牧馬者遙控器保護。家用破壞者也可以一擊拆掉電子工兵。

細枝末節
- While The Homewrecker was submitted with the name "Sledgehammer", The Homewrecker's original skin name was Mr Sledge, and was available as one of the Skins for the Axtinguisher.
- The Homewrecker was accidentally added to the drop system a day earlier as "Unknown Item 153". At that time, the item could be acquired through the random drop system, but not found in the backpack without the help of an external item manager. Approximately 1200 players found the item, but it did not drop into the backpack until the item was permanently and officially implemented on March 18. When moved into the backpack before this, the item took the placeholder icon of the Bottle.
- Larolaro, creator of this weapon, also created and submitted the winning Tank Buster Pack for the Polycount Pack contest.
