User images + user page

Hi Payn,

Please add "User Payn" in front of any file you intend to use on your user space, for example "User Payn Profile Picture.png". There is no need to upload the image again, I have already changed the file's name.

Also, I don't mind if you take anything from my user page. If you need help with anything, feel free to ask.

Super magic CSS powers

Heyo, Congrats! Now that you have super magic CSS powers...a couple of things that are useful to know. Anything in common.css will only be visible to you and applies to any page on the wiki. If you want something on your userpage to be visible to others that should go in Page.css. If you're looking to get started and want to change the wiki logo and stuff feel free to steal from my common.css. I've got the wiki logo, login icon and a few other things all birdified. Also another handy thing is that you can use your browser's develepor tools to test out style changes in real time instead of having to make a new edit and test every single change. That works, be carefull though because the buttons on the 3Ds neeed proper translations and you shouldn't really add them unless you know the proper words to use. If you aren't sure what words you should just leave it to the translators Mediarch ♥ Talk ♥ My Edits 01:16, 13 May 2024 (UTC)

Oh no, I mean just making sure the actual things are there in the first place. Besides, I'm pretty sure there's language switching with the template so there shouldn't be much of an issue, I won't be translating them myself and if there's any issues I will notify someone on the IRC. — payn. The template has language switching for some things but not all things. For example you added the 3d view to the /ar Shortstop page and it the buttons say Festivized. "Festivized" in Arabic isn't Festivized and that's the kind of thing I'm refering to when I say that the buttons need proper translations. Same goes for "Default". I see, my apologies. I saw brackets underneath that had Arabic underneath, so I assumed they said Festivised Red, or something along those lines. Will keep this in mind as I go onwards. I think for now I'll just set the groundwork for the translators to go off of, as I think this is an issue with the actual template not having proper translation switching for Arabic. I'm not sure there are any active Arabic translators anymore, so I think for now I'll make it easier for them to easily make changes to the actual item infobox template and have it all just automatically switch to the translated version. Oh, Arabic's a deprecated language. That explain it, at least the 5 Arabic browsers of the wiki will get to see the cool festivised 3D views at least???? — payn. Talk Contribs 01:37, 13 May 2024 (UTC)

If you were to look at the source for say...the spanish Scattergun page, all of the buttons are named manually. There is no dictionary enty for any 3D button names at the moment. The template currently has no way of automatically switching those names for any language which is why I would be very hesitant to add them unless I knew for certain that I had the correct names. I think it's better to have no 3D view than have poorly translated 3D views that might not get updated for a long time. What you could do, if you want to set the groudwork for the translators, is put all the code in for 3D but leave it as a comment out and add {{update trans}} so that the translators can get to it when they get to it. Some languages just aren't as active and if you go around adding a bunch of 3D views that aren't translated they will stay that way for ages and I don't think that's exactly ideal. Also, totally unrelated but I've been told by staff to not worry about updating the infoboxes to use templates like {{used by}} and such. The plan is to have a bot do it automatically.
