Unreleased Meet the Team videos
There are two unreleased Meet the Team videos expected for release. They are Meet the Pyro and Meet the Medic. As revealed in an interview with Robin Walker by the podcast Kritzkast, Meet the Pyro will be a look at the world through the Pyro's eyes.
Engineer update
- Of all the current classes in Team Fortress 2, the Engineer is the last to have a major content pack planned for release. Valve have stated that they have been working on the Engineer Update on numerous occasions, one of the most notable examples is in the TF2 Official Blog post, Dammit dammit dammit dammit!.
- On May 5, 2010, Valve released a 27-second teaser for the Engineer update. The teaser contains many things that may be hints about the Engineer's unlockable weapons. Later, in the June 11, 2010 Team Fortress 2 Mac Update Video, the Engineer is shown carrying what appears to be a modified shotgun with an odd device attached to the side and antennae. This could be a possible Engineer unlockable weapon.
- On June 27, 2010, Valve sent an in-game screenshot to the Apocalyse Gaming Community as a thank-you present for hosting the Battle of Both Worlds event. The screenshot was accompanied by the following message by Robin Walker: "We didn't give you a photo of us signing. After some conversation here, we decided that a more fun way to prove that you did get the shirts from us is to give you something about the upcoming Engineer Update that could only have come from us. Please find this something attached."
- On July 1, 2010, Valve released a patch adding a currently unreleased melee weapon for the Engineer: the Golden Wrench.
- On July 2, 2010, the comic Loose Canon was released. This has been speculated to be the start of the Engineer Update. Watch this space!
- On July 4, 2010, Valve began 'random' Golden Wrench drops to 5 people. Instead, 16 people managed to find the wrenches due to lag. These marked the first initial releases of the Golden Wrench as a usable item in Online servers.

Trading system
On numerous occasions, such as in the September 2, 2009 blog post, a trading system had been promised.
Robin Walker has stated in an email that the reason for the delay is that the Steam team, rather than the TF2 team, is responsible for the technical side of implementing a trading system - and they have been busy with the Steam 2010 user interface updates, as well as other tasks such as TF2's mac integration.
Collectible statues
The IP Factory will be releasing a line of limited edition 12 inch Team Fortress 2 collector's statues. Currently all classes bar the Heavy are pending release. Pre-orders of these statues went live on the 3rd of May 2010. They will be available in Q4 of 2010.
Polycount update
After breaking into Polycount's office, Valve has organized a TF2 item modeling contest in association with Polycount. The results will be announced July 12th (with a promise of no use of Valve Time) and the winners will see their items (hats, weapons, etc) integrated into the game.
Class/Other Major Updates for the Xbox 360 Version
The last official mention of any class/other major updates (containing new items, maps, etc.) for the Xbox 360 version of Team Fortress 2 was on April 2, 2009. There are two main reasons as to why the content has not been released. Firstly, due to reaching or coming close to reaching the memory limit that the Xbox 360 possesses. Secondly, due to the fees Microsoft have put in place for adding content to games, using Microsoft's very own Live on-line market store. These fees have been calculated and estimated to cost Valve over one hundred thousand dollars to update the Xbox 360 version of Team Fortress 2, in the same manner and fashion that the PC version has received the class and patch updates. Therefore, some expect the updates and patches to be released for the Xbox 360 once Valve has finished and finalized all of the class updates, therefore allowing them to group all of the updates and patches in one large group and content update, though it seems highly unlikely.
New demo format
Robin Walker has discussed a new system for recording demos, where a player can request a recording from the server at the end of a life or round. The plan is for the format to be "More robust" so the demos will not become unplayable as easily as the current system when the game is updated.[1] Another goal is to allow people to easily share their videos on video sharing sites.[2]
