The Tin Soldier is an item set for the Soldier. It was added to the game in the Very Scary Halloween Special.

The set includes the following items:
- Idiot Box, a headwear item;
- Steel Pipes, a miscellaneous item;
- Shoestring Budget, a miscellaneous item.
Equipping all three of these items enables additional voice responses and allows the Soldier to perform the Robot Dance taunt.
Deze set bevat voorwerpen die alleen rond Halloween of tijdens een volle maan gedragen kunnen worden; tijdens de rest van het jaar is het niet zichtbaar bij het spelen en het effect is niet van toepassing, tenzij de server Halloween-modus aan heeft staan. Het kan daarentegen wel altijd aangedaan en bekeken worden in het uitrustingsscherm, ook al is het in het spel niet zichtbaar.

- The Very Scary Halloween Update page depicts the Soldier with this set and a flyswatter equipped, though no flyswatter weapon exists in the final set. There is, however, an unused kill icon for it in the game files.
- The name "Tin Soldier" is a reference to the late 19th century children's toy of the same name.
- One of the Tin Soldier's unique domination lines requests for another player to come with him to his apartment, as he "needs a roommate", despite that the Soldier already has one: Merasmus the Magician
