Map Overview
Helltower overview.png

Helltower is a Payload Race map added in the Scream Fortress Fifth Halloween Special. It is the Halloween-themed version of Hightower.

Objective

The objective is to push a cart of gravel containing the Mann brothers (Blutarch for RED, Redmond for BLU) to the lift at the high towers before the other team. Once either brother is pushed to the checkpoint, all players will be sent to a demonic cave only known as Hell.

In Hell, the teams are pitted against each other, and all players must attempt to enter the Skull Island. Any players killed in Hell become ghosts and must pursue the living players. Only one team can receive the Spellbook at a time. Players that survive and reach the book receive an empty Spellbook, which can be filled with pages found from the Haunted Halloween Gift.

Overview of the map.(Large file)

  • The Hightowers
  • Central Tower
  • The Crossing
  • The Ramp: Unlike Hightower, the carts do not fall back down these ramps by gravity.
  • Cliff-House: Its back wall is now opened up and can be fallen off of.
  • Balconies
  • Tower Corridors: Some changes have been made here, including small puddle rooms on each side that players can drop down into, and small inaccessible tunnels, which can be used to teleport to the opposite tunnel when you are affected by the shrinking spell.
  • The Bridge: Appears and disappears.
  • Hell: When one of the caskets reaches its goal, both teams are sent to Hell.

Trivia

Cast-able Spells

When playing on Helltower, players who have the Spellbook Magazine equipped can cast spells that appear while the carts are being pushed, enemies are killed or during the "Witching Hour". The spells vary greatly, from launching a player into the air to turning invisible. Normal spells are found by pushing the Cart or by killing an enemy. Super spells are found by crossing the bridge during the Witching Hour, killing the Skeleton King, or can be found in Hell. All Super spells only have a single charge.

Normal Spells:

Blue Fire: Two charges Fires a blue ball of fire that sets enemies on fire in a large radius. Not affected by gravity.

Teleport: Three charges. Fires a dark purple ball that teleports you to it's location when it comes in contact with a surface.

Super Jump: Two charges. launches you high into the air. Can be used in air.

Heal Allies: Single charge. ÜberCharges all allies in a small area for 0.5 seconds, and overheals them all over time.

Bats: Two Charges. Shoots a ball that explodes in a small radius upon impact. Causes enemies to fly into the air and gives them a bleeding effect.

Explosive Pumpkins: Single Charge. Causes bombs to spread out in an area, which become Team-colored Pumpkin bombs. These can be shot by your team to explode violently, but do not explode when destroyed by an enemy.

Invisibility: Single Charge. Causes you to temporarily become invisible, attacking or taking damage does not remove the invisibility.

Super Spells

Summon MONOCULUS: Fires a skull at the area. Upon impact, summons a team-colored MONOCULUS that begins to attack enemies.

Summon Skeletons: Fires a skull at the area. Upon impact, explodes into several team-colored skeletons which begin to attack enemies. Sometimes when killed, the skeletons drop mini skeletons, which continue to attack enemies.

Electric Ball: Fires a wave of electricity that continuously damages enemies it touches, and forces them to move along with the wave.

Fire Shower: Fires a fire ball. Upon impact, summons several meteors above the targeted area, which do massive damage to enemies in the area.

Shrink: Causes your player to shrink, becoming difficult to hit. While small, you can Fit in small areas that you normally can't. Your movement speed, attack speed, and reloading speed is greatly increased. You have infinite double jumps, similar to the Ghosts in Hell.
