The Ghost of Zepheniah Mann is an environmental hazard unique to the event version of Harvest. He appears at a certain spots on the map, then follows a predetermined route before disappearing. If any player strays too close to him, they will be forced into third-person mode and flee in terror for several seconds, unable to jump or attack for the duration. His presence is easily noted by wailing noises and, if you are indoors, a sudden darkening of the lights.
Killing a player while they are being scared by the ghost during the annual Hallowe'en Special will grant the player the Scared Stiff scarechievement.
