Note that you cannot use Bonk! while carrying the intelligence, or grab the intelligence under the effect of Bonk!. The same applies to Control points and Payload carts. It is possible to be soaked with Jarate while under the effect of Bonk!, but it will only affect the damage you take after Bonk!'s effects have worn off.

- The ingredients of Bonk! are water, radiation and sugar. (Cherry Fission also lists radioactive isotopes)
- RED's flavor of Bonk! is "Cherry Fission", while the BLU version is "Blutonium Berry".
- Cherry Fission claims to have isotopes, while Blutonium Berry has 33% more real radiation.
- An active adult's daily recommended sugar intake is around 90g. Assuming the drink really contained the advertised "several hundred times" worth of daily recommended sugar, the can's contents would have to weigh at least 9 kg, about 20 lbs.
- The Sandman's Home Run is the only attack the Scout can perform during the invulnerability period of Bonk! Atomic Punch.
- The concept of Bonk! is that it gives the player using it the ability to "dodge" all forms of damage, however if you are hit with a Huntsman arrow, you won't take damage as normal but the arrow will remain shot through the Scout's body like Huntsman arrows would normally react. Likewise, if a Scout dodged a rocket he wouldn't be expected to be knocked back and if he dodged bullets he wouldn't be expected to leave bloodmarks on the walls.
- Until the April 28, 2010 Patch, Bonk! Atomic Punch had a slowdown period after the effects wore off, making the Scout 56% slower than his base speed, wearing him out. The patch traded in the slowdown period in favor of a time limit before you can use it again, similar to the Sandman. This is still referenced on its page in the Scout Update, and the achievement 'Retire the Runner' originally involved killing a Scout who was under the effect of this slowdown (now it is to kill a Scout under the effects of Crit-a-Cola).
- By holding down primary fire while Bonk! Atomic Punch is still active, a player is able to fire their weapon the moment Bonk! wears off. The player's weapon will not play its firing animation for the first shot.
- Currently, a bug with Bonk! results in the afterburn from the Flare Gun not being "dodged"
