LordKelvin's Talk Page
For any Wiki- or IRC-related thingies that require my attention, leave a message here and I'll hopefully get back to you in the same day or before the end of the next one, depending on my work and/or vacation status. If it's something urgent, then just finding me or another staff member on IRC would be best.

User name change
Hello. I was wondering, can I change my username? I asked Nikno and he said to ask an admin. If you can, then please respond. Thanks in advance! SCUNT MAIN 10:22, 21 March 2017 (PDT)
- I can certainly try, the last time someone asked it didn't work though, might be a problem with the Wiki or the specific characters in the name. What name would you like your account changed to? -- LordKelvin 10:35, 21 March 2017 (PDT)
- I think that was due to AlexBro having those very weird symbols in his name. You should forward that to Wind if it still doesn't work. — shots fired by: Nikno {Talk | Contribs} 07:57, 22 March 2017 (PDT)
- I want to change it to Scunt Main. That's my Steam username so I want to use it, if you can. SCUNT MAIN 10:14, 22 March 2017 (PDT)
- Ok. It's been a month now and I still haven't gotten a reply. Are you able to change it? SCUNT MAIN 10:30, 6 April 2017 (PDT)
- Sorry, I bumped it up the chain but apparently it may be a problem with the Wiki server itself. Not much I can do at this point, sorry. -- LordKelvin 23:31, 6 April 2017 (PDT)

- It seems there currently are technical issues with Mediawiki's name change process. I'll hit you up when this issue gets resolved, The Scout. — shots fired by: Nikno {Talk | Contribs} 00:09, 7 April 2017 (PDT)
- Thanks. Also, when things do get up and running, message me on my talk page LordKelvin, so we don't make a giant ongoing thread on this page. Just to clean things up a bit. SCUNT MAIN 09:57, 7 April 2017 (PDT)
Editing with a VPN
Hi LordKelvin, I have found a loophole to do with account security and IP addresses. While this is not allowed in Wikipedia.org, the TF Wiki permits you to create an account and edit pages while using a VPN. By allowing this to occur, it compromises the integrity and security of this website; as such, I am wondering whether it would be possible to block the use of VPNs for editing and making accounts on this website. Cheers, Revetron (talk) 04:39, 4 July 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We're aware of several issues regarding the Wiki, and I've let the rest of the staff know about this one. -- LordKelvin 07:04, 4 July 2018 (UTC)
Same Problem as Below
Hello, I'm Amza. Similar to below, I'm a new editor here. I was proofreading a page and fixed a small error and tried to save, but apparently I'm blocked from editing TOO because the person named "pootispootispootis" was using my IP address. However, my edit wasn't deleted, it didn't go through in the first place due to the block. The ban expires tomorrow apparently; and like Spicus, I'm not mad, but I would like this issue resolved. Thanks, Amza (talk) 12:38, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
- The issue stemmed from a problem we thought had been fixed, but apparently it wasn't. Apologies for the issue, the block has been removed and we'll look into putting a permanent fix in the issue in the future. -- LordKelvin 17:38, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
blocked?
I'm new to editing wiki's (literally joined just to add a cool fact I found out about the Lugermorph) and not only did my edit get deleted with a snarky "reason" by a different user. But it says you blocked my IP because it was being used by some user I've never heard of "pootispootispootis" putting "nonsense/gibberish. And on top of that, the block says it started over an hour in the future! IDK if it's just because I'm new but I don't understand why any of this happened. I'm less mad and just more confused, please allow me an explanation. Thanks, Spicus (talk) 06:15, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
Apparently everybody is having this issue. i believe Tark fixed it, not sure. anyway, the IP that was blocked is a IP used when the website cannot find your ip correctly again, not sure about that either. MrJohnson (talk) 13:04, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
