The Description Tag is a tool item that allows a player to give an item of their choice a customized description of up to 80 characters (including spaces), with some exceptions. Each tag can only be used once before being destroyed. Custom descriptions will always be enclosed in quotation marks such as "Example Description". Like the Name Tag, if the item is used on a stock weapon, it becomes a unique item and the player will "find" a new version of the stock item with the name of the stock item (Ex: Describing Fists will get you a new item with the name Fists also, except with your description applied). The newly described item can be found in the backpack separate from the original stock item. If applied on any other item it will not create a new version. Changing the item's description does not affect its ability to be traded. Also, using a Description Tag on an item with an effect in the description (Ex: The Axtinguisher) will not erase the effect listed in the description and will simply be listed underneath those effects.
Any eligible item, including those traded or already having its own unique description, can have a Description Tag applied to them. In order to return the item to its original state, select the item and use the button within the backpack normally marked "Use with...". Restoring an item to its original state will not refund the Description Tag.
Description Tags can be dropped randomly, found when unboxing a Series #3 or #7 Mann Co. Supply Crate (now undroppable), or purchased from the Mann Co. Store.
Description Tags are not Craftable
