Talk:Medi Gun
Should this be mentioned?
While I was rummaging through the weapon files, when I looked at the Medigun file, it says that it deals 24 damage. But as you know already, it only HEALS. Should this be mentioned in the Trivia? AbeX300 18:26, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
- There's a lot of random, un-noteworthy outdated/unused/development stuff in the weapon files. I wouldn't add it. -- Nineaxis 18:30, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
- From 10 to 15 seconds, this rate increases linearly from 24 up to a maximum of 72 health per second. Maybe you read it wrong? --Picard lm(de) 18:35, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
- @Nineaxis If that's the case, why is there a mention on Jarate about it's 5-Damage? @Picard I suppose. I'll check it out by changing the "damage". AbeX300 18:38, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Requested move
- Note: A month has passed since the rename was proposed, however, it is clear that a consensus has not yet been reached. I'd ask that everyone who has participated in the discussion above re-evaluate their position before a final decision is made. seb26 [talk] 10:35, 18 September 2010 (UTC)
This quote should help those still undecided to make their decision. -- Benjamuffin 05:22, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
“ | Looking at the in-game localization text, I can see we’re already inconsistent ourselves, so I don’t think it’s a big issue. I’d pick whichever one you want to go with, and call it that. If you get nitpickers complaining about it, add a note to the pages saying that the game itself is inconsistent.

Medigun vs Medi Gun
This one is probably more controversial than other move requests. In-game, in the backpack/inventory this weapon is referred to as the Medi Gun. However in the tips section it is referred to as a "medigun". This is an example of Valve being rather inconsistent. Should this page be moved to Medi Gun?
- Support I think we should go with what's official in-game, not what we think intuitively should be correct. -- Pilk (talk) 15:58, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
- Support: Probably short for "Medical gun" --Firestorm 16:01, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
- Support: We should match what is displayed in-game. -- Nineaxis 16:43, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
- Support JL's Backpack also says Medi Gun, so I think we should move it. --Picard lm(de) 18:44, 17 August 2010 (UTC)

- Neutral: While I think you guys are right, a change like this would be annoying because the community pretty much always calls it the "Medigun." -The Neotank ( | Talk) 01:20, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
- Neutral: Am fine with either, just used to type Medigun. Oh well, bot can clean stuff up :3 </shameless plug> — Wind 01:27, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
- Support: I don't see where Valve refers to it as the "Medigun" other than the names of its model and textures.--Nelson340 21:36, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
- Support: If the backpack uses two words, so should we.--Piemanmoo 19:20, 25 August 2010 (UTC)
- Support: per the reasons above. MK 06:36, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose: Medigun seems more tidy to me. You might as well just call it the Medic Gun if you're planning to go all the way.--Focusknock 17:19, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose: Like flamethrower, even though this is how it's written in the loadout menu, "medigun" is used almost exclusively everywhere else. Dragonsbrethren 20:44, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose: It's a medigun. It's a portmanteau of medic and gun. It no longer is a portmanteau when you have it as Medi Gun. Plus it looks odd. Here's another thought, what would gamers wanting to know more about the gun search for in Google? They'll search it like it appears in game, so to help SEO (and accessibility) ratings, just set it as Medigun. -- RogueDarkJedi 01:46, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
- Comment It appears in-game as Medi Gun. Hence the discussion here. -- Nineaxis 01:49, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
- Comment Well, color me surprised. It's been awhile since I've played TF2. -- RogueDarkJedi 03:13, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
