Clan Tartan
Can someone do research on which Scottish clan the tartan on the grip belongs to? Would be an interesting bit of trivia :) -Object404 18:52, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
It isn't a real tartan, though it does bear some resemblance to Dunbar tartan. Most likely it is a simplified MacAuley tartan; being so small on the weapon model it makes sense to simplify it. Cooper Kid 23:21, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
I've done quite alot of research and I can confirm that it isn't a real tartan. Whether it is a simplified version of a real one or if it was just made up is for Valve to know and us to question for all eternity, though it does bear closest resemblance to the MacAuley tartan. Think this is worth putting in trivia? Cooper Kid 13:44, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
Blood splatter is different
Looks like the blood splatter is less realistic than the one in the Fancy vs. Nasty Update. But I can't tell because my DirectX 9 is too flickery. --Superslinger2007 02:38, 18 December 2010 (UTC)
Page Title
I'm not sure how to, so can someone change the title of this page to The Claidheamohmor, as that is the proper name of the weapon. Cooper Kid 22:29, 18 December 2010 (UTC)
It is the weapon's name, but it's agaisnt the style guidelines. Zabidenu 07:43, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
'Oi! What just happened?'
There is this REALLY big green box on this page, and according to the Table of Contents, it's "Name Example, Bug, Name Example, Bug, (repeat)". I have never seen this happen, and I don't know how to remove this... AbeX300 18:55, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
Charge time increase
Does this mean that when used with Charging Targe the charge lasts for 0.5 seconds longer? It would basicly mean that using either of the stickybomb launchers with this would be a straight downgrade. --SandeProElite 11:49, 22 December 2010 (UTC)
Achievements
I can confirm that the Claidheamh Mor gives the Beam Me Up Scotty achievement. Timpkmn89 07:45, 23 December 2010 (UTC)
- All of the two-handed Demoman weapons can get all of the Eyelander achievements (except for the tauntkill one) -- Psychopath 07:46, 23 December 2010 (UTC)
Oi, oi, oi, how long is it?
Seriously, I can't find anywhere. How long is the charge without the sword? 2 seconds? And it should be said now long the duration/distance is before and after the Claid. Like if it's a significant distance, or Eyelander would be better. Longer article peeps!Vulturas 14:19, 27 December 2010 (UTC)
- According to the Chargin' Targe page, appox. 12 seconds at a full charge. Keep in mind this still needs some testing and clerification. This is a Signature 14:09, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
kill icon
does anyone think the kill icon looks a little bit wierd. to me it doesn't look right. i think we should change it. ~awesomesauce~ 01:06, 7 February 2011 (UTC)AWESOMESAUCE
- It's the kill icon extracted from the game files and is what is used ingame. —Moussekateer·talk 01:15, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
Page Quote
Rather then editing it again just to have it edited back, I'll just post it here. I know it's like that in the Fancy Vs. Nasty update, but I honestly don't like the idea that the name of the goddamn weapon is spelled wrong in its own page quote. I mean, I can't be alone on this, right? --RedLunchBox 03:30, 16 February 2011 (UTC)
The description was written before the name of the Claidheam Mòr was corrected. The quote stays the same. Cooper Kid 13:14, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
Reduction in charge time
Hi, I found out when playing with the game files that this weapon also reduces the requirement to do another charge by 2 seconds if you do the full charge before the charge meter starts regenerating. How to this if you don't understand my last sentence: Charge the full distance, then take note of the time, and count down 10 seconds. When you count to 10 seconds, look at the charge meter, you'll be able to the charge meter when it isn't full.
You have to do this in order for the reduced charge to work. My wording needs to be worked on, so if someone can do that, that would be wonderful.
Edit: Someone just changed it after I editted it about 3 times. It definitely sounds more clear, and I thank them for that, but I just added another bit so it's perfectly clear how to do the shortened charge. I hope that's OK, the discussion is only put here for documentation. Now, I'm going to bed. — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Hummus (talk) • (contribs) 08:44, 22 March 2011

Pronunciation
Can someone add a correct IPA pronunciation for the weapon? Would be good seeing as literally no-one knows how to pronounce it - I'd do it myself but I don't have a mic. The pronunciation's in the trivia section. Cooper Kid 00:21, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
- I've added the IPA, just needs a sound file now. Cooper Kid 00:33, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
- I've added the sound file, not great quality though so maybe someone with a better system should redo it. Cooper Kid 12:27, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
- The IPA didn't match the respelling. I don't really know Gaelic, so I used w:Scottish Gaelic orthography to figure out the correct pronunciation - the respelling seems to be about right, so I changed the IPA to match it. The sound file is still different, though. Hairy Dude (talk) 16:20, 27 October 2013 (PDT)
- Gàidhlig speaker here, depending on locational/spoken variant of Gàidhlig it should be pronounced "Cly-uv more" (IPA- /kʰlɪʝɛv moːɾ/) or "Cly-eau more" (IPA- /kʰlɪʝɛu moːɾ/). Will update main page with both and remove sound file. (I don't really know if the IPA is right, it sounds ok to me though) Roddy t (talk) 09:55, 10 December 2013 (PST)
- Please, feel free to add a correct sound file - I've been looking for a proper Gaelic speaker for a while now to update it - but if the old one is even nearly right then don't outright remove it unless you're going to add a correct version. Thanks :) » Cooper Kid (blether) • (contreebs) 07:13, 11 December 2013 (PST)

Team Colours?
The description on this page is a little contradictory. There are RED and BLU coloured versions of the Claidheamh Mòr in the infobox on the right, but ingame and proven in the images section the handle is always wrapped in green tartan, no matter which team you are on. I'd like to know where those team coloured images came from - is this just another example of game files existing but not being implemented properly? If so this should really be in the trivia section. Cooper Kid 12:16, 1 April 2011 (UTC)
- OK, I just realised that the handle is half green, half team coloured; you can actually see that quite clearly on the fullscreen images. There's my fail for the day! Cooper Kid 00:29, 4 April 2011 (UTC)

Charge time increase = longer time to crit?
As I can't test this right now, with the longer charge time, do you still need to go 50% of the distance to get a mini-crit and about 80% to get a crit? If this is the case, using the Claidheamh Mor actually means that the player will have the charge a farther distance before being able to crit/mini-crit. Could anyone clarify? -- Firestorm 14:30, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
- Looking at the Weapon Demonstration video, it does appear that the mini-crit and crit distances are the same as before, meaning you can score crits for almost half of the full charge with the Claidheamh Mòr. That's interesting - think this should be added to the article? --Cooper Kid (Blether · Contreebs) 15:22, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
The Weapon's name spelling in the page quote
So there's this one little issue that always bugged me, and I tried fixing it but it was edited back, and to my suprise the same mistake is that after half a year.
Simply put, the weapon's name is spelt wrong in the page quote, I know it was spelt like that in the Fancy Vs. Nasty update, but can't it be corrected or something? Or at least changed to something else entirely so we don't have to worry about spelling? --RedLunchBox 10:54, 27 June 2011 (PDT)
- I've added a sic note to the quote, that's pretty much all we can do. At least it's been acknowledged. » Cooper Kid (blether) • (contreebs) 03:19, 25 September 2011 (PDT)
Charge crit time statement incorrect
I'm new here on the Wiki, and I specifically made this account to post this (so excuse me if I am doing something wrong):
This statement "This does not change the length of time needed to charge to gain mini-crits and full crits during a charge; the extra half second simply extends the guaranteed critical hit window of opportunity" is incorrect, and I have video proof of this.
Again, since I am new, what should I do about this? How would I go about changing it, and preventing people from changing it back?
I can post the video if need be.
Westonro (talk) 21:41, 11 March 2015 (PDT)
- Well if its incorrect then simply change it. If someone has an issue with it, then show video proof on their discussion page if they have issues. Ashes (talk) 11:26, 12 March 2015 (PDT)
Weapon Demonstration video title typo
In the official weapon demonstration video, it should be "Mòr," instead of "Mór" as it is in the title. Ben10508 (talk) 04:18, 22 October 2018 (UTC)
IPA Link
The link attached to the IPA keys for this weapons links to the Help:IPA/English wikipedia page, but it needs to link to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA/Scottish_Gaelic since several of the characters in the key are not found in English IPA. Dunno if it's actually possible to have it link somewhere else other than by removing the "pronounce" tag from the page source and having it be a plain hyperlink to the correct page

Bug/Note on the JI change
Per the exact wording from the update page - "Note: This weapon has been reverted to its previous design."
For me, the word choice of "design" suggests they meant reverting it back to its original unique play-style of offering longer charges, not necessarily a full revert of its stats (of which it also still has the sword changes that tough break added). Personally I don't think this is a bug, nor worth noting. Jh34ghu43gu (talk) 05:03, 1 March 2023 (UTC)
- They never specified pre-Tough Break stats either, so I'm fine with removing it altogether as it doesn't seem like a bug at all.
GrampaSwood (talk) 10:50, 1 March 2023 (UTC)
- I also don't mind either, but in my opinion that if it needed to stay, it should be in the bug section rather than note section Rikka Takanashi (talk) • (contributions) 11:05, 1 March 2023 (UTC)
