Necessary???

How necessary is this? There are so many ways one might mistype "region", why would this one "receive special treatment" and have its own redirect? - BrazilianNut (talk) 00:05, 21 November 2021 (UTC)

The general policy is that redirects are okay, even if it's something like this. It doesn't hurt those who spell it right, nor can it be confused for another page, it only helps those small amount of people who do misspell it. In other words, it's not necessary, other typos are also fine to redirect.
