Merge

I think this article should be merged with Model optimization. That article already covers it in its LOD section, and even has some more information on it. A simple redirect to that section, and linking the VDC article through the {{Main}} template would serve the same purpose as this article currently does.

I agree, no point in keeping them seperate if they basically mention the same things.
