Talk:Offclasses (competitive)
umm...offclassing?
Although, I'm by far from the most experienced in competitive, I almost never hear utility or utility class used as an actual term. I think the whole article is very misleading to new players researching and trying to learn more about competitive. I think the central problem boils down to saying "a utility class" gives the impression that it's just a class slot that's needed to be filled and it's filled by Scout most of the time. That's incorrect. The class played IS Scout. When a different class is needed, it's done with the intention of getting back onto Scout ASAP, aka offclassing. That is mentioned, but I think the article would be better and more relevant if it was changed to Offclassing since the article is extremely irrelevant. If it's used as an intro to learn the specific strengths and weaknesses of the class balancing, it's great. But as an article describing how competitive TF2 is played, a good 70% of the information is completely unnecessary and sometimes frankly untrue. I dunno what the wiki's policy is, but offclassing as a general term is much more important to know than a "utility" and they cover almost the exact same thing.ArguedOyster (talk) 07:24, 13 June 2017 (PDT)
