Shouldn't be used anywhere on the main namespace. Some are leftovers from the olde days, you may remove them if you see them lying around, but please don't add more. It's okay for the "This topic is better covered" pages to be orphans — Wind 22:57, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
- Ten-four, kimosabe. Naturally, the first time I make a batch edit turns out to be the wrong time! *Kicks can* Esquilax 23:00, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
fibreglass or fiberglass
I understand what you are trying to say about the British/Australian English consistent spelling; but in Batter's Helmet, it's spelled "fibreglass", and in Bonk Helm, it's spelled "fiberglass"! Which is it?
- You evidently do not understand. Read this -- Mechlord 23:31, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
- Hey, Tahtorak0. In response to your query, technically both are correct. The rule of thumb is to ensure that the English used in an article is consistent, and that can mean the use of Australian/British English or American English depending upon which is more prevalent. Regarding those two pages specifically, note that the Batter's Helmet page contains other examples of Australian/British spelling (e.g. "team-coloured"), while the Bonk Helm page contains other examples of American English (e.g. "team-colored"). As such, "fibreglass" would be appropriate for the former page, while "fiberglass" would be appropriate for the latter (note that patch and update information is usually included verbatim and uses American English). I would love to edit every page and convert them to Australian English (the best variety of English naturally :P), but it is easier for all concerned if each article is consistent with whichever version of English is most appropriate. I hope that clarifies things for you, but perhaps not; I have been accused of being verbose on occasion ;). Oh, and remember to sign your additions to "Talk" pages by using "~~~~" in order that we know who is "speaking" :). Esquilax 23:32, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
FaN
I don't understand what about this seems to allude you, but "ease of tongue" is a common phrase meaning "because it's easier to say." I explicitly stated this in the history page. This fact about the clip size was originally posted under "bugs" by somebody else, but it obviously does not belong there, as it is clearly not a "bug," but rather something stated in that particular fashion for EASE OF TONGUE. The fact that the description states "-66% Clip Size," despite it equating to 2.4 rounds instead of the intended 2 rounds is simply because 66% is shorthand for 2/3, and a hell of a lot simpler than writing "-66.666666...% Clip Size." I apologize for your incomprehension of language, but that does not make it incorrect. I made numerous attempts to make this clear to you in my edit descriptions, but clearly you do not actually READ the history page, you just revert it to the version you fancy best. I am leaving the trivia off of the page on that grounds that you are correct, it is not really that notable, but it wasn't my contribution. I moved it to "Trivia" from "Bugs," because it did not belong there; however I suppose it is best removed entirely. Regardless, your incompetence and apparent inability to read astound me. GenericCola 05:17, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
- As much as I would love to debate the validity of the expression "ease of tongue" with you, as well as my grasp of the English language, I see little point in doing so. This is especially true because you are leaping to erroneous conclusions based upon supposition and no facts and, for some reason, appear to be fuelled by anger-induced vitriol. Did you have a difficult day, champ? :) You know, you could have actually made a polite enquiry about this, which is not only good etiquette but would provide you with a more detailed response. In any event, I will simply state that I did indeed read the change log, especially as I have encountered that "trivia entry" (if it can so be called) previously. Because the inclusion of that addition was obviously a source of debate, I felt it necessary to officially confirm its validity. Hence, I contacted one of the Wiki's staff members on the IRC channel, one Moussekateer, and a decision was made that the entry in the "Bugs" section would be both appropriate and sufficient. If you have any objections to that decision, a constructive discussion with the aforementioned party might be appropriate. Either that, or you could ridicule Moussekateer's literacy and understanding of the English language as well ;). Esquilax 21:31, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
- As someone who works in the gaming industry, I can tell you that this does NOT qualify as a bug. A bug is an unintended effect within the game. This is simply an item description. As it has no functionality, it cannot be called a bug. Furthermore, if this erroneous description counts as a bug, we might as well say that every gun description to mention "clip size" is a bug as well, since none of the guns in this game use clips to reload, and we might as well note that the description of "+20% bullets per shot," seeing as the FaN fires pellets and not bullets. GenericCola 02:44, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
- Seems pretty clear to me that -60% is just a voluntary shorthand for -2/3 indeed. — Wind 02:50, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
- I would agree with you, Wind. In any case, we all agree that it does not make notable trivia, so all we can do is hope that Valve will fix that oversight in a future patch and make all of the pedants happy :). Esquilax 04:00, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

HHHH
I think Yankee put that tidbit about servers running the Horsemann Spawner plugin into the Headtaker article because of my edits to the Ghostchievements page. I had added in that servers with the Horsemann Spawner Sourcemod plugin can spawn the Horsemann, allowing players to still get Gored! and Sleepy Holl0WND, as well as the head and unusual metal. (Speaking of this, there's no sense in removing what I added because I added that info quite awhile ago, I believe around a month or so).
As well, I run the Horsemann Spawner on my server, and have helped 100+ players get the 2 achievos + metal/horsemann's head. The Horsemann Spawner's gotten pretty popular as of late. 404 User Not Found 05:09, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
- Oh shoot, I just noticed that Moussekateer also remove an edit Yankee made to the Haunted Metal Scrap page. I'm going to point him towards my edit to the Ghostchievements page, see what he thinks the best course of action would be (whether or not to remove what I added). 404 User Not Found 05:12, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
- Greetings, 404 User Not Found. I actually had a word with Moussekateer on the IRC yesterday, and we agreed that while the information was interesting, it was not really relevant. The main reason was because the Wiki articles are, where relevant, based upon the "vanilla" version of the game. As the contribution in question was predicated upon the use of a customised server, we agreed that it was not relevant to that particular article. It may be that the information would be relevant in a different section (e.g. server mods), but that wouldn't be up to me ;). As such, I would agree that speaking to Moussekateer and/or the other staff would be the way to go as you have already suggested. Esquilax 21:50, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
Do you still have...
Hi, do you still have the source file for File:119th Update Page.jpg? I lost the link you gave me and was going to try to compress it. Thanks! MogDog66 t c p || 07:59, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
- Silly MogDog! I was afraid that this would happen. As such, I kept the file for a few days just in case. Unfortunately, I think I deleted all of my surplus data before I left work for the week, thinking that I was in the clear. I'll dig through my PC on Monday and see what I can find. Esquilax 08:19, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
- No, I do not have a copy here any longer. The Mediafire link should still be active though, so if you were to run a log search on the IRC channel... Esquilax 21:59, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
Competition?
What competition? Is there a userpage competition? I wanna enter :O Gimme a link, quick! 404 User Not Found 08:24, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
- Heh. The "competition" (if it can so be called) is an informal arrangement between WindPower and myself. Hence, it is not sanctioned by the Wiki or its staff, nor are there any prizes. That's not to say that there isn't anything at stake however! ;) If you are interested in such a competition though, you could always run the concept by the staff and see if there is any interest. --- Esquilax (Talk | Contributions) 22:01, 24 March 2011 (UTC)

Stevoisiak | Wikichievement unlocked! Just looking at your contriubutions page, the last 100 edits are nearly all redirect errors, tables, and that kind of boring stuff. |
- The fun never stops around here as you know very well, Stevo ;). My thanks! If I were authorised to provide Wikichievements (and no-one has told me that I am so I will err on the side of caution), I'd award one or two to various people myself :). --- Esquilax (Talk | Contributions) 23:02, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
- Over a year later... This still isn't on your Wikichievements page :| --Stevoisiak 01:18, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

I really liked the design of your page. Can I borrow some elements, but changing them for yourself?-- ( |) 04:33, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you, and thanks for asking! :) You are welcome to use the code and modify it as you see fit, especially as I myself was originally inspired by Lagg's User page. Any resemblance is purely coincidental ;). --- Esquilax (Talk | Contributions) 04:36, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
