Successful Additions/Articles

SampleVial-Full-icon.png Battalion Backup: Additional Strategies

  • The Battalion's Backup can act as a strong counter to its brother the Buff Banner, in that it if you see a large attack coming from a enemy using the Buff Banner, the Battalion Backup can be used to completely nullify its effects and protect your team from the push.
  • The Battalion's Backup can act as a strong offensive push when paired with its Polycount brother, the Black Box and Grenadier's Softcap, especially for a area your team is locked out of due to Sentries. Blow the horn and lead the pack in and make short work of the sentry with your 20% sentry resistance(assuming you equip the full Tank Buster set) and 35% damage reduction from the Backup will turn a once locked down area into conquered ground.
  • If your team is getting pushed back and has been badly hurt, it's always a good idea to jump into the firefight and rescue them using the Battalion Backup. This could very easily save the lives of frontline troops. Remember, its a team effort, and if your Battalion need's some Backup, then its time to raise the calvary.

Goal 1: Add/Update Pyro Strategie's

SampleVial-Empty-icon.png "Puff & Sting", Homewrecker and Pyro 2fort Strategies Update.

2fort Pyro Specific Strategy

  • If you wish to be a defensive Pyro in 2fort, remember to have the backburner equipped alongside your homewrecker. You can protect your intel, your sentries and yourself having the critical power of the backburner to surprise enemies, and a homewrecker to save your friends sentry if necessary.
  • A Ubercharged Pyro can clear a entire Sentry locked area with ease, as long as they have the original Flamethrower. Most Sentries sit up top just outside the battlements. Using your compresion blast, you can knock back a burn the enemy Engineer with ease while still doing damage to the Sentry. Some would recommend the Homewrecker for clearing a sentry, however, this leaves you at a disadvantage in being unable to knock back the Engineer as he heals his sentry, or even worse, you could find yourself getting air blasted by another Pyro, with no way of pushing him back. Burn the Engineer and knock him away, then burn down the sentry.
  • Out on the Sniper top, a skilled Pyro can use Airblast to knock back enemy arrows or rockets coming towards their Sniper Pal's.

Homewrecker Strategy Addition

  • Alternatively to the Degreaser or Flamethrower, many will recommend that a good Pyro who wishes to maintain a high killing score and be there Engineers best bud, one should equip the Backburner to pair with your Homewrecker. Spies are a sentries biggest threat. Your in a contained area and therefor, do not need a Air-blaster. Your Engineer can't be around all the time, so when you see someone zappin's your pals sentry, use the Backburner's critical hits/extra damage to finish the spy, and juggle to your Homewrecker to polish off his Zapper. Extra damage combined with effective juggling will save a sentry every time.

Degreaser "Puff & Sting" Update

  • Remember, "Puff & Sting" is only effective in rooms or smaller area's of combat. The Degreaser is a optimal weapon for "Puff & Sting" Pyro's, but it must be used appropriately. Always flank your opponents. Even with the a compression blast, your lessened damage and short-range disable you in head on fights. Take small corridors and be prepared to blast your opponent into a corner and juggle to your Axtinguisher for the final blow. Take enemies by surprise in closed rooms, and only attack head-on as a last resort.

Goal 2: Add/Update Spy Strategies

SampleVial-Empty-icon.png Spy Eternal Reward Update

  • Wait around a area in which opponents are looking forward to exist. Surprisingly this weapon works incredibly well at the start of clusters of the enemy pushes. By waiting and assimilating a opponent in a pack so quickly, usually the one who is the slowest, one can assume his identity almost instantly without any concern to those around him. During firefights is also a wise time, as their attention will be focused on whats in-front of them, and not behind them.
  • If you do not have the full Polycount set, it is a good idea to use the original default cloak, because it produces less noise than the Cloak & Dagger. However, if you have the full Polycount set, it is a good idea to use Cloak & Dagger to wait patiently for someone to fall behind a group, or turn their back to you in a closed and secluded environment. Due to the effects of the full Polycount set, your de-cloak will be whisper quiet, and so will be your opponent.
  • Using the Deadringer alongside your Eternal Reward will instigate a strong element of luck & skill, and will be much harder to kill opponents. However, if you can assume the identity of someone sneakily you have it made, as if you are discovered the Deadringer can make for a excellent escape plan, and if not, you can go right along insta-assimilating everyone who turns their back.

Goal 3: Add/Update Engineer Strategy Section

SampleVial-Empty-icon.png Mini-Sentry & Wrangler Strategy Updates

Effective Mini-Sentry Strategy Addition

  • A Mini-Sentry is a Offensive Engineers best friend, as they are a wonderful distraction. If you like to place Dispenser's in useful places in enemy lines along with teleports in dangerous area's, the best thing to equip is a the Gun-Slinger. 25 extra health means the difference between living and dying, and being able to lay down a sentry quickly and cheaply is ideal. If you are on the run after setting up your stuff from another opponent, put a sentry in a corner as you run. This will slow them down, injure them, or even kill them. Now when you here your Mini-Sentry begin to fire, back track and put some shotgun rounds in your opponents back. He will have to choose between you shotgun, or the Mini-Sentry, making it a double sided damage attack.

Team Wranglin': Wrangler Strategy Addition

  • "Team Wranglin" as its often refereed to, is one of the most powerful strategies for a team of 2 engineers. One Engineer builds a Level 3 Sentry, and places it in a area where it has the most Wragnlin' range. Behind it you have your level 3 Dispenser with a Team-mates level 3 dispenser, switch to you Wrangler, and light up the battlefield. While you fire, your friend Engineer will be repairing and reloading your sentry, enabling you to fire for a massive amount of time. If positioned correctly, this makes the Engineer a game changer, as no one can effectively kill either of them except for a Spy or Sniper.
