Hello, Adameus2290!
Welcome to the Team Fortress 2 Official Wiki!
Here are a few links to get you started:
- If you're not too familiar with editing wikis, you might like to start with Help:Editing.
- If you already are familiar with wikiediting, you might want to try Help:Style guide.
- Recent Changes will let you see others' contributions as they happen.
- To make Recent Changes more useful for all users, remember to provide an edit summary in the "Summary" field before you save your changes.
- You can set the wiki to prompt you for a summary in your preferences.
- When posting on an article's Talk page you should add four tilde symbols or ~~~~ onto the end.
- This will add a signature and timestamp to your comment so others can easily tell who posted it.
- Any new sections on an article's Talk page should be added to the bottom of the page and not to the top.
- When editing normal article pages, don't sign your contributions.
- You can use the button in the editing toolbar to quickly add a signature.
- If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to leave a message for a staff member.
- If you have trouble with anything on the wiki or you're not sure about a specific topic, feel free to join the IRC.
- You can also customize your user page if you like.
- When uploading images for use on your user page, please add the prefix User Adameus2290 to the file's name.
- Additionally, if you would like to add any self-made content to the wiki, please do so by adding the prefix User:Adameus2290/ to the page title when you create the page.
Once again, welcome to the Team Fortress 2 Wiki!

Welcome, and some pointers
Hello there.
I noticed you have started translating articles to Hungarian. That's great; the Hungarian side of the Wiki really needs more translations.
While I can't tell the quality of your translations, as I don't speak your language (though I trust you are doing a good job), I have seen some mistakes in them.
Links: You have not been "translating" links properly. With links that use
, you should add /lang
(in your case /hu
) after the destination's name, but always before any sections' names.
- Example:
Pyro#Primary
→Pyro/hu#Elsődleges
Note: Some articles use anchors in their sections, so translating those might not be necessary. Always check the destination to make sure if they use them or not.
For links to articles about items and updates, you can use item link
and update link
instead of Zsíroldó
or Galácsony 2016
(just make sure to keep the English name, or it won't work).
- These also have a
name
variant (in place oflink
) that translates the item's/update's name without creating a link.item name
also works with names of styles and Unusual effects. For War Paints and Decorated weapons, it'sdecorated name
(nolink
version).
Wikipedia links are a bit more annoying. Instead of adding /hu
at the end of the link, you have to add hu:
right after wikipedia
/w
. The name of the destination will most likely also need to be changed.
- Example:
USA
→Egyesült Államok
- Tip: If you can't find a version of the Wikipedia link in your language, just add
en
right after.
Infobox: Most infobox parameters have automatic translations; those that don't often use templates that do. For example, the "availability" parameter does not use automatic translating, but avail
does. If you see any links not being made through templates, they need to be "translated" as shown above.
The loadout section of the infobox is the opposite; almost all of its parameters need to be translated, the most notable exceptions being "quality" and "grade" (for example, if "grade = Commando", don't change it to "grade = Kommandós").
I believe this is all. Sorry for throwing so much information at you. :B
With all that said, welcome to the Team Fortress Wiki. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me or any other contributors (which can be easily found in the Wiki's IRC channel).
