Cosmetic images

Hi there,

When uploading cosmetic images, remember to add categories and licensing. See this page for how to license and categorise cosmetic images, and this page for licenses of non-cosmetic images.

Cosmetic images

Hello, I have seen your uploaded images for the Throttlehead, Ripped Rider and Kazan Karategi. I would like to first say thanks for using the proper program for doing these images, as opposed to websites like loadout.tf that isn't allowed here. However, there's a few things that could be improved for your future uploads, as well if you could update these images as well.

The Throttlehead image is using the regular model for Scout, as opposed to the HWM one, we always use HWM models here (save for some exceptions). The Ripped Rider, however, is using the HWM model, although that one is very wide, and will look quite small on the page, it's also kinda hard to see the actual cosmetic due to pose that was used. Finally, the Kazan Karategi's pose is blocking parts of the cosmetic from view due to the Pyro's arms being in front.

Although, I assume you used the regular model on the Throttlehead to do facial flexing move alongside the cosmetic. In these cases, having a more simple facial flex is enough (usually images for beard items don't have much facial flex outside the eyebrows).

And in all the three images, the lack of anti-alias is very noticeable. I suggest reading this page: User:Gabrielwoj/HLMV_Setup_Help_and_Tricks. Here, there's a guide on how to set up HLMV to use the max quality settings, from max quality texture settings to max quality anti-alias settings. There's also a lot of explanation on how to set up animations and how to make more complex poses using other options from the same program.

There's also a guide on GIMP on how to remove the background. On GIMP, you can also auto-crop your images very easily, so there will be no empty spaces on your pictures, which also means they look better on the articles.

Please take some time to read the guide and if you need any help, just ask me. Headphones style when? - User Gabrielwoj Signature 1.pngUser Gabrielwoj Signature 2.png - User Gabrielwoj Signature 3.png 14:44, 31 July 2022 (UTC)

Hello again. I have noticed some improvements over your latest pictures. However, the anti-aliasing on your pictures are still lacking (both the anti-alias on the models themselves and around the model). In case the pre-configured dxsupport.cfg did not work for you (from my guide), you can try using HLMV++ to maximize the graphics settings. You can also use the "Make Screenshot..." tool on HLMV++ to automatically make a transparent picture, after doing so, you only need to open the .tga file with an image editor that supports it (like GIMP), auto-crop it, and export it to .png before uploading to the Wiki. The "Make Screenshot..." can be found on the "Options" tab on the top bar. Also, I recently received a comment on my Steam profile, as well an invite, from someone else asking some Wiki related stuff. I am not sure if it was you or someone else. If you need help with the model viewer and making images and all that jazz, you can add me on Steam so I can help you troubleshooting stuff. If it was truly you who added me and commented on my profile, I apologize for the decline, as I didn't knew. Cosmetic Images

Hello, when uploading cosmetics images please ensure that the Anti-alias is set to max in HLMV, if you are unsure how to do this you can try and use HLMV++ which has the options set for you, using the "make screenshot" feature in HLMV++ can also help remove the very noticeable white outline around the images.
