Hello, Plutonium!
Welcome to the Official Team Fortress Wiki!
Here are a few links to get you started:
- If you're not too familiar with editing wikis, you might like to start with Help:Editing.
- If you already are familiar with wikiediting, you might want to try Help:Style guide.
- Recent Changes will let you see others' contributions as they happen.
- To make Recent Changes more useful for all users, remember to provide an edit summary in the "Summary" field before you save your changes.
- You can set the wiki to prompt you for a summary in your preferences.
- When posting on an article's Talk page, you should add four tilde symbols or ~~~~ onto the end.
- This will add a signature and timestamp to your comment so others can easily tell who posted it.
- Any new sections on an article's Talk page should be added to the bottom of the page and not to the top.
- When editing normal article pages, don't sign your contributions.
- You can use the
button in the editing toolbar to quickly add a signature.
- If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to leave a message for a staff member.
- If you have trouble with anything on the wiki or you're not sure about a specific topic, feel free to join the IRC.
- You can also customize your user page if you like.
- When uploading images for use on your user page, please add the prefix User Plutonium to the file's name.
- Additionally, if you would like to add any self-made content to the wiki, please do so by adding the prefix User:Plutonium/ to the page title when you create the page.
Once again, welcome to the Team Fortress Wiki!

Constructive Criticism
Licenses
Hi there,
When uploading files, please remember to add the appropriate licenses and categories. If you struggle with adding either of these, try looking for similar files and see what they have added. | s | GrampaSwood

Userboxes
Hi there,
Please use the appropriate Userbox template rather than copy-pasting its content. For example, putting {{User Heavy}}
on your user page rather than copy pasting what is on Template:User Heavy. | s | GrampaSwood

Logo images
Hi there,
When uploading an image. Please select either a license from the drop-down menu (not "Another license", as this is used if you don't know which license to use) or paste the license template into the summary field, but not both. Please also add Category:Logo images. | s | GrampaSwood

Userbox images
Hi there,
Please make sure to include Category:User images for any non-logo images you use for userboxes. Please also create all of them at once, then add them to the list of userboxes rather than creating one and adding it each time. | s | GrampaSwood

Incorrect Linking
Hey there, when linking to other articles please ensure you are doing them the correct way as currently you are doing; [[Dispenser|Dispensers]] instead of [[Dispenser]]s, please ensure you are using the correct method for future links. Thank you.

Patch notes
When adding patch notes to the various items that have been updated please make sure to remember that you add relevant links and formatting. Like linking Voices From Below for example. Mediarch ♥ Talk ♥ My Edits 20:04, 18 February 2025 (UTC)
Converting images
There's no need to convert an image to a different format (i.e. changing a .jpg to a .png) unless you are actually capturing a new image in that native format. Converting a .jpg to a .png isn't going to magically improve the quality or anything so there's no benefit in doing that unless it's actually an entirely new image. Also if you are going to change the image format the file name should also reflect what format the image is so if it's a .png the file name shouldn't end in .jpg. Whenever you do update the file type of a file you need to move the image to the appropriate name, update the pages that use the file to reflect the file name change, and after all the pages have been updated you should mark the redirect for deletion. Style guide rewrite
Hi there,
For the style guide rewrite, please note that any minor changes that are not fixes (e.g. grammar fixes or incorrect links) may be reverted due to the previous wording being better. Any major changes to actual style guide will have to be discussed beforehand. | s | GrampaSwood

- This is just a sandbox and I don't plan to rewrite the style guide yet.

- If it's for your own purposes, that's fine, but note of what I said before.

User Class Taunt
Hi there,
I've turned the individual class taunt user boxes into a single dynamic one: {{User Class Taunt}}
. Using ParserFunctions, you can have different inputs give different outputs. Namely using the #switch function, you should be able to look at the template I've made to see how it's done. | s | GrampaSwood

Overwriting images
When replacing an image, please overwrite the original file instead of uploading a different file. If the file needs a name change, simply moving it will do (make sure to remove the redirect from every article and then marking it for deletion using {{Delete}}
). | s | GrampaSwood

Unused images
When you upload images makes sure to add them to the relevant article. Uploading files that go unused just creates more work eventually when they end up getting deleted. Also please avoid custom huds and assets in your images as default tf2 is always preferable for wiki images. Mediarch ♥ Talk ♥ My Edits 17:37, 2 March 2025 (UTC)
- This screenshot was taken before I stopped using custom HUDs.
