First revealed at GC '06, this trailer showcased the various abilities of Team Fortress 2's player classes.
+
Changes
 +
General
 +
* The general texture and lighting of the character models is of significantly lower quality.
 +
* The emblems on the classes' arms are solid circles, instead of class emblems. The exception to this is RED Pyro.
 +
* All characters have the same voice and stock dying noises including the iconic Wilhelm Scream . The generic voice was going to be used for the Civilian.
 +
* The classes had more low-poly heads, which can be seen in their gib models.

Class specific differences from the final product
+
Scout
 +
* Appears to have more upper-body build than the current model does.
 +
* Is shown wielding the Nail Gun which was later replaced with the Scattergun. The Nail Gun was the primary weapon used by the Scout in Team Fortress Classic.
 +
** When the Nail Gun is out, the hands from his player model are used as opposed to his viewmodel hands. His thumb is also pointing up in the one of the first-person shots.
 +
* Has two team-colored stripes near the tops of his socks, and his shoes do not have the white stripes that they do now. Instead, they have a different pattern which can be seen in his gibs.
 +
* His earpiece has changed to Cream Spirit.

Scout
+
Soldier
* The Scout is shown here wielding a Nailgun, which was replaced by the Scattergun in the finished game.
+
* RED Soldier is identical to Trailer 1.
 +
* His BLU coat is a dark blue team color.
 +
* His pants are less saturated.
 +
* His helmet is a dark grey hue.
 +
* His class emblem is blank yellow.
 +
* The Rocket Launcher has different textures and is visually a single-shot frontloaded RPG much like it is in Team Fortress Classic. The protruding rocket was removed in the final version.

Soldier
+
Pyro
* RED Soldiers are shown wearing the outfit they had on in the first trailer.
+
* Their gloves are fully black.
* The Soldier's Rocket Launcher has a rocket sticking out of the end when loaded.
+
* The tank on their back is fully yellow instead of gray with a yellow top.
 +
* The Flamethrower is not team-colored.
 +
* Their asbestos suit is more saturated and has darker hues, and their BLU class emblem is blank yellow.

Demoman
+
Demoman
* The Demoman is shown wielding and throwing a MIRV, a would be stay-over from Team Fortress Classic, which was removed from the game following beta and replaced with Sticky bombs.
+
* He wields a Pipebomb Launcher instead of the Stickybomb Launcher.
* The Demoman's Grenade Launcher could hold up to 6 grenades.
+
** The grenades look completely different and lack any "countdown" particle effects.
* The Demoman's ability to remotely detonate his Grenades hadn't yet been moved to his Sticky bombs.
+
** The viewmodel of the Pipebomb Launcher has a different origin.
* The Grenades don't flash like they do in the final product. They also seem to be longer and thinner, with a slightly different design.
+
* The Demoman is shown wielding the MIRV Grenade before later being scrapped along with all other Grenades.
 +
** The MIRV Grenade also uses the RED textures rather than the BLU textures.
 +
* His class emblem is blank yellow.

Heavy
+
Heavy
* The Heavy's Minigun firing animation includes a more cartoonish muzzle flash coming out of the barrel.  The final version's lighting appears more realistic.
+
* Moves slower.
* The Heavy's Minigun fires bullets in an extremely wide spread.
+
* The viewmodel of the Minigun is slightly different.
* The Heavy's movement speed is much slower in the finished game.
+
* Minigun's bullets are less accurate.
* The bullets seen spewing out of the Minigun are larger and have a different design. There also seems to be more bullets being expelled than in the final product.
+
* His class emblem is blank yellow.
* The Heavy's animation when killed by a headshot was later implemented as a unique death animation.
+
* His vest is similar to the final version.

Engineer
+
Engineer
* The Level 1 Sentry Gun has a different firing sound, which originally seemed to be the MP5 sound from Half Life, builds at quite a slow speed (But this may be because of the fact the Engineer isn't hitting his Wrench off it), and seems to have a higher rate of fire. It also has a muzzle flash, unlike the simple recoil the gun has now.
+
* The animations of the Wrench and Shotgun were more rudimentary. However, the shells from the Shotgun eject out of the ejection port as they should, which does not happen in-game.
 +
* His overalls, goggles, and belt buckle look slightly different.
 +
** His shirt is similar to the final version, and his class emblem is blank yellow.
 +
* The level 1 Sentry Gun has different textures and sounds.
 +
** It also fires slightly faster, but with bullet spread and lower accuracy.

Sniper
+
Sniper
*The Sniper's animation when backstabbed was also later implemented as a unique death animation.
+
* Has different shaders for his glasses.
*The charge symbol seen when the Sniper Rifle is zoomed in has a different design.
+
* The charge symbol, shown when his Sniper Rifle is scoped in, looks different. The Sniper Rifle uses the manual shot charging mechanism from its Team Fortress Classic counterpart.

Spy
+
Spy
* The Spy's Knife has a much longer and more intricate switching animation than in the final game. Also, in the trailer, the Spy could hold the knife before deploying it.
+
* His cloak lacks color transition.
 +
* Cigarettes are white & gold for both BLU and RED, and do not appear to be lit.
 +
* Has a team-colored pocket protector, striped tie and visible buttons.
 +
* The textures on his gloves and mask appear to be different.
 +
* The Butterfly Knife has a longer and more articulate backstab animation. This was considered too long and shortened by the time of the pre-release, and was later changed so that the animation was an instant kill, and remains that way to this day.

Other differences
+
2Fort
*The Pyro and the Medic are both seen in the trailer, but neither are mentioned.
+
* The bridge in the center of the map is uncovered, which is covered in the current release.
* The design of the characters is very close to the finished game, but there are still some slight visual differences.
+
* The spawn rooms have separate exits and entrances.
*Footstep sounds were recycled from Half-Life 2.
+
* The entrances to the BLU and RED bases have stairs. These  were later replaced by ramps.
*The classes all have their beta designs which are all still seen in the Heads-up Display while playing.
+
* The entrances from the sewers have spiral staircases, which were also in Team Fortress Classic.
*The emblems on the class' arms are solid circles instead of class emblems.
+
* The truck that appears in the background has a red roof.
* Weapons were less jerky when being wielded by classes. For example, the Nailgun held by the running Scout was almost stationary when it was viewed
+
* The wooden barrels and boxes past the end of the bridge are destructible.
* The spawns have a separate exit and entrance like in Team Fortress Classic.

* The 2Fort bridge is uncovered.

* The explosion graphics are different in the finished game.

* The picture showing all the classes at the end is an old version featuring the older designs and weapons.

* All characters have the same voice and stock dying noises including the infamous Wilhelm scream.

* Characters have a few clarity issues. For example, the Heavy's ear and Demoman's eye patch are a bit blurred.

* The finished game has far more blood when players are gibbed.

* The classes' health were set very low (especially Soldier and Pyro) so that the other classes could kill them easily.
