The Meet Your Match Update was accompanied by a video. It shows RED team standing on the Competitive Mode winner's podium, doing various Taunts, while the defeated BLU team stand below with multiple different injuries.

Video Description

Ever since the first apes climbed out of the trees, there were apes who did it faster. Some apes just fell out of the tree. It's a sad fact that all apes are not created equal.

Presenting our newest tree-climbing-down simulator, matchmaking. Play alone or with your friends against players of similar skill levels. Climb out of that tree at your own speed, confident that the apes around you aren't beating you to the bananas. Which technically grow IN trees, but maybe the ripest ones probably fall to the ground? Yeah, that makes sense. Look, this isn't a banana simulator, people.

[The title of the update appears on screen, accompanied by music] [The camera pans out from the winners stand of Competitive, with a victorious RED team flashing victory poses] [The music stops, and the RED Heavy looks to the audience angrily] [Camera cuts to a wounded losing BLU team, in which an annoyed BLU Engineer is holding a stereo] [The BLU Engineer disappointingly rewinds the music then plays it again] [The BLU team groans as the RED team continues their victory poses] [Metal doors slam closed with the Competitive logo with text reading "Get competitive"]

Notes

• At the end where the BLU Engineer plays the music after rewinding it, a Heavy can be heard groaning yet no BLU Heavy is seen throughout the video.
• While the BLU Engineer is rewinding the stereo, a BLU Pyro can be seen behind BLU Soldier and Demoman. Once the camera starts zooming out on the RED team, the BLU Pyro switches sides and is beside the BLU Spy and Sniper.
• At 0:15, a crudely drawn "LOSERS!" sign can be seen on the floor behind the injured BLU Team.
