+ | : Sure. NP. I have a mind to update the guide a little. As I was reviewing your edit I realized a rule of thumb; if the term happens to have its own page on the wiki, the it would be appropriate to capitalize it ( [[Item]], [[Cosmetic]], [[Contract]] ), but not when you are not using the term in that strict sense ( like [[Classic]] vs <nowiki>{{botignore|classic}}</nowiki>). I think the use of such capitalization in such technical writing can assist in communicating operation on classes or objects (as some styles might to in source code). If there gets to be a sense of overcapitalization, I suggest not capitalizing words less important to the point of the discussion; if several Items or Cosmetics are mentioned to such an extent that capitalization of the words Item or Cosmetic detracts from the topic, then I might relax their emphasis with lower case. Hello, Leraincat!
Welcome to the Team Fortress 2 Official Wiki!
Here are a few links to get you started:
- If you're not too familiar with editing wikis, you might like to start with Help:Editing.
- If you already are familiar with wikiediting, you might want to try Help:Style guide.
- Recent Changes will let you see others' contributions as they happen.
- To make Recent Changes more useful for all users, remember to provide an edit summary in the "Summary" field before you save your changes.
- You can set the wiki to prompt you for a summary in your preferences.
- When posting on an article's Talk page you should add four tilde symbols or ~~~~ onto the end.
- This will add a signature and timestamp to your comment so others can easily tell who posted it.
- Any new sections on an article's Talk page should be added to the bottom of the page and not to the top.
- When editing normal article pages, don't sign your contributions.
- You can use the button in the editing toolbar to quickly add a signature.
- If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to leave a message for a staff member.
- If you have trouble with anything on the wiki or you're not sure about a specific topic, feel free to join the IRC.
- You can also customize your user page if you like.
- When uploading images for use on your user page, please add the prefix User Leraincat to the file's name.
- Additionally, if you would like to add any self-made content to the wiki, please do so by adding the prefix User:Leraincat/ to the page title when you create the page.
Once again, welcome to the Team Fortress 2 Wiki!

Welcome!
Well hello there Lerainca! What a pleasent surprise to have you here. I can see that the WelcomeBot has already introduced you to the TF Wiki, but there's surely a difference between an automated machine and a real person giving you a warm welcome, right? Hence my reason for welcoming you once again to this knowledge hub of tf2. I hope that you'll stay with us for a while and provide plenty of useful contributions to the wiki. "Unnecessary capitalization"
Please note the style guide for capitalization.
It has been a practice to capitalize object terms when referring to particular attributes of the game such as "Class", "Item", "Ammo", "Knife", "Cosmetics", etc, especially when the term is a token for a class of objects, e.g., "Contracts", "Objectives".
Mind you, this has not been absolutely consistently applied, and the ironic lack of capitalization of "item" in the section heading is not lost.
See also Help:Style guide#Valve's grammar, just in case.

- Sure. NP. I have a mind to update the guide a little. As I was reviewing your edit I realized a rule of thumb; if the term happens to have its own page on the wiki, the it would be appropriate to capitalize it ( Item, Cosmetic, Contract ), but not when you are not using the term in that strict sense ( like Classic vs {{botignore|classic}}).
