— The Heavy
|
” |
Upon taunting with the Fists, Saxxy, Apoco-Fists or Holiday Punch equipped, the Heavy mimics a quick-draw pistol showdown, resulting in instant death for any enemy slow, unaware, or simply unfortunate enough to be in the way.
A fully-overhealed Heavy, however, has a chance of surviving the Showdown if the Heavy executing the Showdown taunt does not stand close enough to said overhealed Heavy when it hits.
Unlike most taunt kills, the Showdown must be aimed manually; the taunt's invisible bullet will fire in the direction the player was facing at the time. Because of this, it can be aimed in any direction, including straight up or down, and can miss even when the enemy is directly in front of the Heavy's "gun hand."
The range at which the taunt will kill is 500 Hammer Units, the equivalent of 9 players standing shoulder to shoulder of any class. For example if the Heavy performed the taunt in a horizontal line, the range is about the length of one of the storage units at Granary. The taunt's vertical range is approximately the distance between the ground level and second floor ceiling of 2Fort. Once past the taunt's range, it has no effect.
As with most kill taunts, this taunt can be used to kill enemy players during humiliation and stalemates.
