The Gloves of Running Urgently (G.R.U.) are a melee weapon for the Heavy. They are similar in appearance to the Killing Gloves of Boxing, but designed with flame decals and orange rings around the cuffs.
While the Gloves of Running Urgently are the active weapon, the Heavy moves 30% faster - at 99.67% base movement speed, a rate of 299 Hammer units per second (about 13 miles per hour). While this effect is active, the Heavy is vulnerable to mini-crits and will remain so for 3 seconds after switching out, indicated by a skull and crossbones appearing above him, and a skull icon on the HUD. The increased speed effect does not stack with other effects, such as being hit by the Disciplinary Action or eating a Buffalo Steak Sandvich. The Gloves of Running Urgently's damage is 25% less than that of the Fists.

- The Gloves of Running Urgently now using the boxing taunt and boxing glove weapons are now of the type "Boxing Gloves" instead of "Fists."

- Fixed an exploit that allowed people to bypass the Gloves of Running Urgently's damage taking penalty.
- The Buffalo Steak Sandvich's speed boost no longer stacks with other speed boosts.

Unused content
- The original set of team-colored skull particles are still in the game files, but are not used.
Bugs
- Sometimes, the Marked For Death effect will occasionally still appear over the user when seen by another player.
- The Marked For Death attribute is listed as a positive instead of a negative one in the item's description.
Trivia
- G.R.U. is an acronym for the Template:W, the foreign military intelligence directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (formerly the Red Army General Staff of the Soviet Union).
- Three variants of the Gloves of Running Urgently were featured in the closed beta, the attributes of which were leaked by testers. They did not have their own texture or taunt and instead used the Killing Gloves of Boxing's model and the Showdown taunt as placeholders.
- G.R.U. Beta 3 was identical to the weapon as it was originally implemented in the Mann-Conomy Update.
