The Heavy

The melee weapon of the Heavy class are his massive Fists. Dealing significant damage, his Fists are an alternative to the Shotgun when an opponent is at close range and the Heavy's Minigun is out of ammo. Alternatively, the Fists may be used to attack enemies within melee range if the wind-up time for the Minigun is too costly.

By default, left clicking throws a left-handed punch and right clicking throws a right-handed punch (this has no effect on gameplay). Critical hit punches appear as a right-handed uppercut animation.

Taunting with your Fists equipped will activate the special Showdown taunt attack.

Heavy Civilians may attack with their Fists just as a regular Heavy, as well as the Shotgun or the Sandvich and K.G.B..

When the Heavy dies with his Fists out, he drops his Minigun, which can be picked up for ammo.

Trivia

  • The Fists have a Normal weapon variant.
  • The Heavy is apparently so strong, his Fists leave dents in metal, much like bullets do.
  • While Stunned, you can still kill by right-clicking.
  • The bucket icon for the Fists have RED or BLU gloves depending on what team you're on, showing that sometime in the beta the Heavy had team colored gloves.
  • In the Xbox 360 version of the game, the kill icon for the Fists is that of the current kill icon for the K.G.B.
    • This was true for the PC version as well, until the Heavy Update.
