Fists are the default melee weapons of the Heavy. They are simply his large meaty hands curled into deadly weapons.
Dealing significant damage with less than normal speed, the Fists are suitablewhen an opponent is at close range and the Minigun is possibly out of ammo. Alternatively, the Fists may be used to attack enemies within melee range if the wind-up time for the Minigun is too costly. When the Heavy dies with his Fists out, he drops his Minigun, which can be picked up for ammo.
By default, left clicking throws a left-handed punch. Right clicking throws a right-handed punch though this is essentially the same and has no effect on gameplay. Critical hit punches appear as a right-handed uppercut animation.
Taunting with your Fists equipped will activate the special Showdown taunt kill.

Previous Changes
- Untill the Heavy Update, the kill icon for the Fists was that of the current kill icon for the K.G.B.
Trivia
- The Fists have a Normal weapon variant.
- As with all weapons, the Fists will cause dents and holes to appear on surfaces. This implies the Heavy is remarkably strong, but technically it's caused by the way melee weapons (including the Fists) are programmed.
- If the player is Stunned, for example by a Sandman Ball, right-clicking will still function, allowing attacks to still be made.
- The bucket icon for the Fists have RED or BLU gloves depending on what team you're on, showing that sometime in the beta the Heavy had team colored gloves.
- Strangely, the Heavy does the same damage with the K.G.B., even though they're padded boxing gloves.
