Scream Fortress 2014

Scream Fortress 2014 was a major update that featured a carnival operated by Merasmus. It introduced bumper cars as the post-round activity, featuring three separate tracks/modes. It is the sixth Scream Fortress update. All players who login to Team Fortress 2 after downloading the update will recieve a Halloween Gift Cauldron, which contains three random Scream Fortress 2014 items, one of these items will always be both Strange and Haunted quality.

The update brought 50 new cosmetics, 6 achievements, the Halloween event map Carnival of Carnage as well as the Kritz or Treat Canteen and the Necro Smasher: an all-class (sans Spy) melee reskin.

The update also brought the introduction to the Strange Haunted quality cosmetics. All Strange Haunted quality items include 2 strange parts -- "Carnival Games Won" and "Carnival Underworld Kills" (players knocked off the track). Regular Kills can only be counted in the Carnival of Carnage.

Carnival of Carnage: Bumper Crop Kill 30 enemies by bumping their bumper cars off the tracks. Carnival of Carnage: Up All Night To Get Ducky Collect 250 ducks. Carnival of Carnage: Hat Trick Score 3 goals in bumper car soccer. Carnival of Carnage: Step Right Up Earn 4 of the Carnival of Carnage achievements. Reward: Necro Smasher

Carnival of Carnage: ReinKartnation Respawn 30 ghost teammates during bumper car games. Carnival of Carnage: Arms Reduction Kill 15 enemies while under the effect of Merasmus's melee-only curse. Carnival of Carnage: Bumper to Bumper to Bumper Win each of the 3 bumper car games to earn a bonus Halloween Gift Cauldron.

Unused content

• Names of three cosmetic items can be found in some translated versions of Team Fortress 2, indicating submissions from the Steam Workshop. They are a part of the collection Dell in a Shell. It is unknown why they were not been added in the game.

Trivia

• Agathodaimon symbols were used on the update's page to write the spells names. These symbols were also used in the previous Halloween updates of 2012 and 2013.
  • The symbols on "Ball O' Lightning" translates to "BALL LIGHT NING"^(sic).
  • The symbols on "Uber Heal" translates to "OVER HEALTH".
  • The symbols on "Stealth" translates to "STEA LTH"^(sic).
  • The symbols on "Meteor Storm" translates to "MET EOR"^(sic).
