Scream Fortress 2016 or Scream Fortress VIII was the Halloween event launched with the October 21, 2016 Patch. The update added two new taunts, 3 new maps, 24 new cosmetics, as well as a new tool item, the Unusualifier. The update also brought the return of Merasmissions, originally introduced in the previous year's event.

Timeline
The event began on October 21, 2016, and was originally slated to end on November 9, 2016. However, the event was extended and officially ended on November 16th, 2016.
