Spanaren som använder sig utav Änterhaken

Mannskraft är ett spelläge som ursprungligen visades med Smissmas 2014 uppdateringen i Mann Co. Beta programmet. Det blev officiellt släppt som ett fullständigt spelläge med Scream Fortress 2015 uppdateringen. Mannskraft är en modifierad version av Fångaflaggan spelläget.

Spelstil

Vid start av en Mannskraft match, kommer spelaren bli uppmanad att utrusta sig med Änterhaken. Änterhaken tillåter spelare att hålla fast sig till yttor men också att snabbt förflytta sig genom kartor. Spelaren färdas i en rak-linje till punkten där Änterhaken har fäst sig, och spelare kan inte använda deras vapen medans Änterhaken används. Spioner kan använda deras Änterhake medans de är döljda eller förkläddnade, och deras hakes rep kommer vara samma färg som deras förklädnad. Genom att hoppa medans man dras av Änterhaken, en spelares upward velocity is increased, som boostar spelaren framåt och tillåter för enklare manövring till vertikal terräng. Tung Artilliristen och flag-bärare är dock undantag till denna förmåga.

För att klara målet av kartorna, måste spelaren erövra informationen 10 gånger, till skillnad från det vanliga 3 gånger på vanliga CTF matcher. För att erövra fiende lagets Information, måste ditt lags Information vara obestridd och vara på dess startpunkt. Till skillnad från vanlig Erövra Flaggan, blir timern som visas över den tappade Informationen inte återställd om den plockas upp igen, vilket gör det svårare att erövra Informationen. Tilläggvis, om en Informations bärare inte har någon uppgradering, kommer de få en hälso genererings likvärdig till 0,1x av class base health regeneration. Flaggor blir giftiga och markera bäraren för död 90 sekunder efter att den har blivit stulen. Om båda lags flaggor är stulna och giftiga, kommer dem återvända nästa gång dem tappas. I motsats till ett vanligt Erövra Flaggan spel, om informationen erövras belönas spelaren med 10 poäng på poänglistan, istället för det vanliga mängden poäng som är 2, och laget som erövrar Informationen får inte någon 10 sekunder kritisk skadeboost. Återupplivnings timern är förkortad med ungefär 4 sekunder vid död från en annan spelare. Återupplivnings timern är 0 sekunder om spelaren dör av något annat än en spelare (självmord). Spelare ges också cirka 10 sekunder av odödlighet efter att de har återupplivats.

Om en spelare inter har en uppgradering utrustad, kommer de see uppgraderade fiende spelare glöda om de är under 30% av deras maximala hälsa. Det finns ingen gräns på avståndet av denna glöd, så länge spelaren upprätthåller tylig siktlinje av fienden.

Alla närkampsvapen gör 30% extra skada, om attacken inte mini-kritiskt eller helt kritiskt. Demomän som utrustar sig med en sköld ges inte denna bonus. Ytterligare, sköld laddnings mätaren passiva uppfyllning är minskad, och minskningen är större om spelaren har en uppgradering. Föremål och handlingar som lägger till laddning till sköld mätaren lägger till mindre när en uppgradering bärs. Sjukvårdare har en reducerad helnings takt av 75% om han eller hans "patient" har en uppgradering, och 50% helnings takt om bägge två bär en uppgradering. "Patienter" med uppgraderingar kan inte bli överhelade. Ubersågen ger 10%ÜberCharge istället för den vanliga 25%, och endast 5% om Sjukvårdaren bär en uppgradering. Ingenjörens byggnader utlöser sig mycket fortare, och Spanare tar ingen Fall skada. BATATATATT tar 1500 skada för att fyllas istället för den vanliga 600.

Om en spelares antal dödade är väldigt hög jämfört med andra spelare i matchen, kommer spelaren att gå in i ett dominant läge för en kort stund. Under denna tid, kommer spelaren bli markerad för död om en uppgradering bärs, och deras uppgradering blir också mindre effektiv.

Slumpmässiga kritiska träffar dominationer är inaktiverade.

Uppgraderingar

I Mannskraft, kan spelaren plocka upp många olika uppgraderingar som finns runtom kartan. När en uppgraderad spelare dör, kommer uppgraderingen tappas i fiende lagets färg. Neutrala uppgraderingar kan plockas upp av alla lag, medans lagfärgade kan endast bli upplockade av laget som färgen matchar eller Spioner som är förklädda (dock kan Spioner inte plocka upp fienders "hämnd"). I Vanligt Spelläge, finns det endast en version av varje uppgradering tillgängligt (med varje lags "hämnd" som undantag). Om en uppgradering inte plockas upp i tid, kommer den försvinna och återkomma någon annanstans. Lagfärgade uppgraderingar kommer försöka komma upp i lagets egna bas, eller så nära som möjligt. Imbalance detection

When a Mannpower map loads, RED and BLU team are given an invisible score counter that is automatically set to 0. For every kill a player scores with a powerup equipped, the server adds 1 to that team's counter. If the difference between RED's and BLU's score is greater than or equal to 24, the map is told to run imbalance measures. This involves spawning the Revenge powerup in in front of the losing team's spawn, and/or swapping two players between teams based on their skill rating. Imbalance detection and imbalance measures are unrelated to Dominant status.

Dominant status

As of the Oktober 1, 2020 Patch, a new feature exists named Dominant status. This feature was implemented to prevent players from going on very high killstreaks -- a common occurrence in Mannpower. In 5 minute intervals, the server tests to see if any player is applicable to receive Dominant status. When the number of kills a player gets in these 5 minutes exceeds 3 times the server median number of kills, they will be given Dominant status. Dominant status lasts for 10 minutes by default. Under the effects of Dominant status, players are marked for death while they have a powerup equipped, and the stat boosts of any equipped powerups are nerfed. A player entering dominant status is indicated to the enemy team by the message "An enemy player is dominating the game. The playing field has been levelled in your favor." in chat.

Health regeneration

Sources of health regeneration unique to Mannpower use a unique healing mechanic which scales in speed depending on the class being healed. Health is regenerated every 0.25 seconds and the green health number displayed is exactly half of the health added. The base healing rate of each class is as follows:

Januari 27, 2015 Patch

  • Fixed a bug related to overhead icons disappearing (Powerups).
  • New temporary powerup – Uber. Respawns at 1/3rd the speed of Crit powerup.
  • Fixed some bugs that would cause powerups to stop spawning.
  • Fixed the Action Slot key behaving different for the grapple hook depending on the setting for hud_fastswitch.

    • Vampire: Flamethrower and Minigun return 80% of damage back as health instead of 100%.

  • Fixed bug that sometimes caused two Intelligence briefcases to spawn.

  • Grappling hook changes:
    • Reduced max rope distance
    • Reduced grapple dismount jump height.
    • 30% hook movement speed penalty for Heavy.
  • Flag rule changes:
    • Flags can no longer be returned by touching them.
    • When dropped, flags return after a timeout. This timeout does NOT reset if the flag is picked up again before it returns or is captured.

  • Updated health kits to give players the normal amount even if their powerup increases max health.

  • Gameplay Changes
    • Flag carrier grapple movement speed reduced
      • Scout with no powerup or with Agility powerup – reduced to 0.8x regular grapple movement speed (down from regular grapple movement speed in previous version)

      • Backstabs disallowed if you’re connected to an enemy by the grappling hook. This applies if you’re hooked into someone or if they’re hooked into you.

      • Powerup modifications
        • Reflect – maximum health reduced 400 to 320. Reflect damage reduced from 80% to 50%
        • Vampire – damage resistance removed. No blast weapon clip size increase
        • Strength – game multiplier reduced from 2x to 1.4x
        • Regeneration – health regenerates at 70% of the regular rate
        • Haste – weapon firing rate increase reduced from 2x to 1.5x.Weapon reload speed increase reduced from 4x to 2x
        • Knockout – melee damage increase reduced from 1.9x to 1.4x
        • King – max health increase reduced from 100 to 20
        • Plague – damage resistance to infected players reduced from 50% to 20%
        • Precision
          • Sniper Rifle - Scope speed increase reduced from 2x from 1.5x. Shot charge speed increase reduced from 3x to 2x. Damage bonus reduced from 2x to 1.5x
          • Blast weapons - Regular blast radius falloff. No clip size increase
        • Resistance – damage resistance reduced from 50% to 35%
      • Server variables associated with this feature:
        • tf_powerup_mode_dominant_multiplier – the multiple over the server median that a player’s kill count needs to be in order to be determined dominant
        • tf_powerup_mode_killcount_timer_length – the time interval to wait between tests for dominant players

November 5, 2020 Patch

  • Dominant players are now marked for death only when carrying a powerup
  • Shield charge meter passive refill rate reduced. Reduction is greater when carrying a powerup
  • Items or actions that add to the shield charge meter now add less when carrying a powerup
  • Carried buildings now deploy faster than default, but not instant
  • Decapitating swords no longer get the base melee damage boost other melee weapons get in Mannpower

Unused content

The Über powerup model
  • There's an unused powerup called "Über", which provides an ÜberCharge for 20 seconds.

Bugs

  • The Knockout icon on the freeze-cam appearance gets cut off.
  • The backpack description for the Knockout Powerup is outdated, saying that it still gives critical hits.
  • It's not normally possible to carry buildings or disguise while having the Knockout Powerup; however, it's still possible to create new buildings or disguise by using the console commands build <0-3> or disguise <1-9> <-1/-2> while having the Grappling Hook activated.
  • The damage noise from the Plague Powerup will continue to play if it is stopped by a Dead Ringer, Chargin' Targe, or any other action that removes the effects of bleeding.

Trivia

  • Many of Mannpower's mechanics, such as the Grappling Hook and powerups, were heavily inspired by the Threewave CTF mod for Quake.
  • The King powerup symbol actually resembles the standard chess queen icon.
