I think the main page needs a bit of a revamp
It's REALLY cluttered, everything is just kind of everywhere. This wiki is supposed to be something of an encyclopedia of definitive TF2 facts, and while it manages to do that, it seems like it's easily confuse new players/people who know nothing about the game. People like that do find there way here once in awhile. I remember something like a current even banner appearing on the main page, and that'd be nice to bring back. There should always be a short summary of the game which links to Team Fortress 2, along with an explanation of the wiki as well. Maybe I'm just nitpicking, but doesn't it seem cluttered to anyone else? Index could go >Summary/important pages >the six images that lead to important images >Trending topics Featured article
But that feels cluttered too... maybe the page just has too much going on? SilverHammer 22:07, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
Blog Post
new blog post: http://www.teamfortress.com/post.php?id=5614&p=1
it says:
Tune in for the First Annual Saxxy Awards Show LIVE at 3:00PM PDT this Wednesday, June 8th! We'll be revealing a new category winner every five minutes! That's one hundred frantic, furious minutes of award-bestowing! As far as we know, nobody has ever attempted to hand out this many awards in so short a time.
So essentially tomorrow we will get a live stream presentation of the Saxies over the course of an hour and forty minutes from 6PM EST. Smashbrother101 00:44, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

- This is not the way to go about it. You're clogging up the discussion page. —Moussekateer·talk 00:59, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
Should I just delete it then? Smashbrother101 01:53, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
;_; I'm sorry... Smashbrother101 01:58, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
- I'm just kidding , It's fine to stay, if it really needs to be gone, an admin or moderator will delete it. Till then this serves as a reminder to others not to post things that are better suited on SUF. - nixshadow (t|c) 02:00, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
Add Birds to the trending topics
Title pretty much says it. I know they are yet not officially added to the game (in terms of Valve noting it somewhere), but the already exist gameplay-wise. Also, why shouldn't they be added when every new promo item to be added in the game will get trended instantly? Selbi 20:30, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
- Damn good idea. They're more "trending" than Replay Update is right now. SilverHammer 09:22, 10 June 2011 (UTC)
- Added now. seb26 09:29, 10 June 2011 (UTC)
Relative Date Not Updating
Whatever it is that calculates the relative date under Latest Updates isn't working. It says that the last patch was 'Today', but has the date set at June 8th. It's currently 6:40pm PST on the 9th of June/ 0139 UTC on the 10th. NSCoder 01:40, 10 June 2011 (UTC)
- I think you may need to clear my your browser's cache. Personally mine says yesterday. 01:46, 10 June 2011 (UTC)
- It says `Yesterday' now for me as well, but I didn't touch my cache or hit reload between visits nor have there been related changes under `Recent Changes'. Weird. NSCoder 01:51, 10 June 2011 (UTC)
- The time functions are based on the server time which is UTC (or GMT), so they won't update based on the date/time settings in Preferences nor the time settings on your local machine :< seb26 09:29, 10 June 2011 (UTC)

I don't wanna seem racist, but...
What's with the dot on the front page? The one after "Relay Update" in the trending topics section. SilverHammer 09:21, 10 June 2011 (UTC)
Lightbox loading
I think TF2Wiki gallery needs to be more like Portal Unofficial Wiki. I mean this loading image in every Portal Wiki gallery. You can see it here, and it looks nice and stylish.
We need same gallery function with tf2 logo animation. What do you think? --flutterravie Talk Contribs 05:13, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
- That would be interesting indeed, but i feel as though it would be unnecessary. Also if something like this gets initialized, it might crash the server...again. Now if we were to do this, the icon could simply be the TF2 logo rotating clockwise. 23:02, 14 June 2011 (UTC)
- That's what I was talking about. -- flutterravie Talk Contribs 09:33, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
Konami code on front page
When using Chrome to view the wiki, the Konami code easter egg on the front page plays the animation waits till it finishes and then plays the audio. Just a heads up incase that can be fixed Theharribokid 07:51, 14 June 2011 (UTC)
- I can confirm this as well. --Stevoisiak 21:10, 19 June 2011 (UTC)
Birds on Main Page?
Pfh01988 23:53, 17 June 2011 (UTC)Should we add birds to the main wiki page to keep in the theme of the blog currently?
- Already added to the logo, just Ctrl+F5 or Shift+F5 to see it :3 — Wind 23:53, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
- Clicking on one of the top three birds on the main page displays different (hospital-related) images; where would be a good place to catalog this information? --Jmudge 05:22, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
Grossly out-of-date blog post link
Someone's missed the last 2 days of TF2 blog posts... Pez 17:22, 22 June 2011 (PDT)

Shall we replace the Purchase under Team Fortress 2 with Play now! or something like that? Kazzymodus 15:14, 25 June 2011 (PDT)
Support I guess we could. real_alien (T/C) 15:16, 25 June 2011 (PDT)

Add the strange quality to the trending topics
Or is there any reason not to do so? =P - Selbi 16:53, 25 June 2011 (PDT)
- Strange quality, along with Unusual, Vintage, and all the other item qualities are covered in Quality to keep from clutter. TheTimesAndQueriesOfMyAss 05:36, 8 July 2011 (PDT)
Need help changing the SV page.
I made an entire translation of the Über Update page into Swedish.
But I can't seem to change the main pages Über Update Feed button so that it sends you to the swedish page. Instead it sends you to the English one.
If someone can, please change it to show this page: http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Über_Update/sv.

- I think I have fixed what you were requesting. - nixshadow (t|c) 01:18, 1 July 2011 (PDT)
- Thanks a lot for the help. I must learn some more on editing specific things through code. I'm not that great yet. Atleast I feel proud for doing all that translation myself. Axel 12:08, 1 Juli 2011 (GMT+1)
What happened to the site's formatting?
Is it intentional, or something on my end causing the formatting to look odd? Item info boxes are now left aligned instead of right, the update boxes at the bottom of the pages look odd, and overall it just feels messy. Drkirby 16:27, 1 July 2011 (PDT)
- Yeah, I noticed that too. (P.S sign your posts with 4 tildes) CANPoo 12:46, 1 July 2011 (PDT)
Main Page, small error?
So, I found a small error here, and I don't know how should I go about editing it: June 23, 2011 - TF2 Official Blog updated twice. Meet the Medic This is it! The moment you've been waiting for! Meet the Medic is finally here! Both "Meet the Medic" text's link to the same video. I don't think the first "Meet The Medic" is necessary. Arrk 02:43, 3 July 2011 (PDT)
Pyros: annoying or skillful?
During my days at tf2 I have seen alot of people using pyro... but the question is; Are they all w+m1? What really makes you a w+m1? constant running while your finger is glued to the primary trigger? or is it that they never run out of ammo? (i never seen them run out of ammo while they w+m1) maybe they just dodge really good? or use the axetinguisher while your on fire? or they hack? (yes. i will go that far) maybe they have a long career of tf2 and decided to retire and become a noob. think about it. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by Hard-cores brain and rants (talk)

Item Prices? Good or bad idea?
I dont know about the rest of you, but I find it a bit annoying having to look up and search the forums for the trade value of some items just to find out that the value I found is not the accepted value of the item. I think addind a trade value to the items here on the wiki would make everything much more simple for the online community as well as to prevent unfair trades. I am sure there are many possible ways this could back-fire and that I am not the first to think of this or suggest this. I just think it is at least worth thinking about. — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Aquadragon42 (talk) • (contribs) 10:15, 11 July 2011 (PDT)
- No, since values are subjective. And this should go in Team Fortress Wiki:Discussion. – Ohyeahcrucz [T][C] 10:17, 11 July 2011 (PDT)
- No, those are subjective and not what the Wiki is for. Balladofwindfishes 10:18, 11 July 2011 (PDT)
