Różne przedmioty są przedmiotami posiadającymi osobne pole "Różne" na ekranie ekwipunku, jednak dla celów wytwarzania liczą się jako nakrycia głowy. Tak samo jak czapki nie zmieniają w żaden sposób rozgrywki i istnieją tylko dla celów kosmetycznych. Aktualnie na ekranie ekwipunku znajdują się dwa sloty na różne przedmioty, jednak ten drugi jest jak dotąd nieużywany. Z racji posiadania osobnego slotu mogą być one noszone razem z czapkami. Różne przedmioty są odblokowywane po spełnieniu pewnych wymagań lub losowo podczas gry.

Aktualnie istnieje 9 różnych przedmiotów, jednak tylko cztery klasy posiadają przeznaczony wyłącznie dla nich osobny przedmiot.

Historia

• Bezklasowa Aktualizacja

Dodano pierwszy różny przedmiot do gry - Dżentelmeński medal za zasługi. Medal był nagrodą dla pierwszych 11 111 użytkowników, którzy weszli na ukrytą stronę na blogu Team Fortress 2; każdy medal ma swój unikalny numer. Aktualnie medalu nie można zdobyć.

• WOJNA!

Broda z aparatem dla Szpiega będącą wcześniej czapką stała się różnym przedmiotem, umożliwiając dzięki temu noszenie jej razem z czapkami dla tej klasy. Zwiększyło to jej częstotliwość wypadania do częstotliwości broni, co poskutkowało utratą swojej rzadkiej wartości i znacząco większej ilości graczy, którzy ją posiadają.

The first set of community hats from Valve's Contribute! site are patched in, along with a new misc. item for the Medic, the Physician's Procedure Mask. The Camera Beard's drop rate is restored to the same drop rate as normal hats. Misc. items can now be used along with hats in the Rebuild Headgear recipe.

The Grizzled Veteran, Soldier of Fortune and Mercenary medals are awarded to players depending on the date of their first play. They are the first misc. items that can be equipped by all classes.

The Primeval Warrior medal is awarded to all players who participated in the original beta release of Team Fortress 2, with the medals of those eligible being changed accordingly.

The Whiskered Gentleman hat for the Pyro is reassigned to the Misc. slot, so that it may be worn with other hats.

A Greentooth (Polycount icon) pin is revealed by Polycount as a misc item available to community members who submitted entries for the Polycount Pack contest. The item was contributed by Polycount member DKK and is expected to be released alongside the Polycount Pack.

Wytwarzanie

Because of the special nature of most Misc. items, they are generally incompatible with the crafting system. Most of them cannot be crafted into other items, or crafted themselves from other items. The exceptions are Misc. items that can be found in-game through the item drop system. These items are treated exactly the same as hats. Meaning they can be crafted using any blueprints that may create a hat, or used in place of a hat in blueprints that require a hat. These are the current Misc. items that function as hats, in order of their addition to the game:

• Camera Beard

• Physician's Procedure Mask

• Whiskered Gentleman

These items are considered hats, but they are placed in the miscellaneous slot because they don't take up space on top of the head. This is to allow players with these items to wear them at the same time as a traditional hat.

A rumor existed that a Misc. Slot Token appeared for crafting purposes soon after the Camera Beard was reassigned to the Misc. slot. The rumor told that someone could craft four camera beards together to earn this token. It was later said that a Misc. slot token could be combined with a Soldier token to craft the Gentle Manne's Service Medal. This is false. There are still some unused slot tokens in the crafting system, but again, the Misc. token does not exist.
