LGBT flags Trivia

Several people have tried adding to the Trivia section about the LGBTQIA2+ pride flags hidden in the texture being removed, but it's been reverted every time. Not sure what the logic behind this is. It's the only item with this sort of update (to my knowledge) and that is, if nothing else, trivia about the item. Marceline (talk) 17:36, 17 August 2024 (UTC)

Trivia should be about the current version of the item. Talking about how the item was in the past is not valid Trivia, as this will quickly fill up many Trivia sections of many articles. This has been in our Trivia style guide for many years now. A cosmetic having their texture updated should be mentioned in the update history, which already mentions the texture being updated (for a different reason, that being texture compression creating artifacts). Also note that this is not out of spite or anything, just consistency with how every other article is done.

I feel as though a texture change this deliberate should at least be noted as an undocumented change in the update history, no? None of the patch notes could really be conceived of as referencing the texture change unless you stretch the meaning of "fix[ing]... texture compression" to removing an explicit reference from the creator. Fixing an issue with the texture's compression already means the texture got updated. I don't see much of a reason to add "Updated texture of the Desk Engineer" on top of that.
