The Golden Frying Pan is a melee weapon for all classes. It is an Australium-plated cast iron skillet.

The weapon acts identically to the default melee weapon of each class, sharing the same statistics and abilities. As such, Spies can perform backstabs and Engineers can upgrade and repair their buildings. Its distinguishing feature, however, is that enemies killed by it will turn into motionless golden statues of pure Australium instead of ragdolls, a trait shared with the Golden Wrench and the Saxxy. This gold effect applies to jiggle bones which freeze in place.

The Golden Frying Pan is a melee weapon for all classes. It is a Frying Pan, either plated with or made of pure Australium.
 +

 +
This weapon functions identically to the default melee weapon for the player's chosen class, but with added cosmetic functions: upon contact with a player or surface, it plays Frying Pan weapon sounds from Left 4 Dead 2, and any enemies killed with it produce motionless statues of pure Australium instead of the normal ragdolls. Any jiggle bones on enemy ragdolls are also frozen by this effect. In addition, a special unique to this weapon, the Golden Wrench, and the Saxxy is played upon killing any enemy. However, unlike the Spy's other melee weapons, the Golden Frying Pan does not have a unique raising animation to indicate an enemy can be backstabbed.
 +

 +
Upon killing an enemy as Engineer, unique voice lines play.
 +

 +
Golden Frying Pans can be obtained in Strange quality with a pre-applied Professional Killstreak Kit as a very rare reward for completing an Advanced or Expert Tour of Duty in Mann Up mode.

The Golden Frying Pan is a melee weapon for all classes. It is a Frying Pan, either plated with or made of pure Australium.

In addition, a special sound effect unique to this weapon, the Golden Wrench, and the Saxxy is played upon killing any enemy. However, unlike the Spy's other melee weapons, the Golden Frying Pan does not have a unique raising animation to indicate an enemy can be backstabbed.

Upon killing an enemy as Engineer, unique voice lines play.

Golden Frying Pans can be obtained in Strange quality with a pre-applied Professional Killstreak Kit as a very rare reward for completing an Advanced or Expert Tour of Duty in Mann Up mode.

  • Fixed the Engineer not playing the proper response rules while using the Golden Frying Pan.

September 16, 2021 Patch

  • Updated Golden Wrench, Saxxy, and Golden Frying Pan kills to use the Australium background for death notices.

Bugs

  • If the Strange counter on the Golden Frying Pan is reset while playing, its appearance looks like a regular pan until a resupply locker is used or the player respawns.
    • This also occurs if a player picks up a Golden Frying Pan from the ground and the original owner disconnects from the server.
  • A rare lighting glitch can occur where the Australium statues appear white, similar to the ice sculptures left behind by a backstab with the Spy-cicle.

Trivia

  • Similarly to the Saxxy and the Golden Wrench, the Golden Frying Pan broadcasts a message to everyone currently in-game when either found or deleted by a user:
    • Upon being found, the message reads: "[Player] just received a Golden Frying Pan!".
    • Upon deletion, the message reads: "[Player] has destroyed their Golden Frying Pan!".
