Bread Space, even though containing a lot of cover for you to hide behind, is still a very open map and you are in danger from most sides. The most important rule of this map is to '''scan your surroundings'''. A very useful note is that you can use the bread monsters forming in the radioactive puddles as a source of acceleration. By crouching near a bread monster and hitting it with your melee weapon, it explodes giving you a lot of knockback and some damage. It's a useful way of transportation similar to rocket/sticky jumping. But remember to use it wisely! it takes a bit of damage and takes some time to respawn, so don't waste it!

** Another good place for a Sentry is on a bridge near the end of the map, as enemies will have to pass through this point and will have to focus your Sentry for a while, delaying their advance.
At the start of the round, it is optimal to have a sentry nest behind cover, near the BLU spawn. The best spot for a nest is behind Yellow panels, as shown in the image in "while attacking". It's hard for the enemy team to get to that sentry nest, and usually a lot of your teammates walk by that place, wich would come in handy when a Spy saps your buildings/kills you. Even though this may seem like noone will ever see that nest being there and will just go on with the cart, the result may suprise you. A lot of players walk by that point not really looking around, and this strategy might give you a lot of kills.

** At the complete end of the map at the giant Bread Monster is another good spot for your Sentry Gun - there is a wall that you can place your Sentry behind. place it in such a way that it can see most of the Payload cart track but doesn't stick out too much to make it harder to destroy.

An another good place for a sentry is on a bridge near the end of the map. You are sure of it, that enemies will come through at some point, because the rails are just below the bridge. Destroying the sentry will be crucial for the enemy team, so keep close to your sentry and better bring a Dispenser. By healing the sentry constantly, it will be a struggle to destroy. But remember to watch your surroundings! If you stand still healing your Sentry Gun, you are an easy target for an enemy Spy! Turn up your volume and listen for a decloaking sound or sound of changing disguises. Spycheck (shoot at suspicious "teammates") to  make sure, that your friend passing by isn't a Spy just waiting for you to turn your back.

An another good sentry spot is at the very end of the map, just next to the giant bread monster. Again, your biggest threat is spies, but now snipers come in the ring. There is a sniper spot that sees into this place, so you better watch for snipers around and run to cover! Besides that, placing your buildings there and having your teammates help you out might win you the game. Place the sentry in a spot that can see the most of the rails, but also doesn't stick out too much, so that it can ambush enemies, without it being easy to reach/destroy.

[[File:BreadSpaceEngi1.png|thumb|left|Good place for a sentry, behind the yellow panels]] A very good place for a sentry as a defending engineer is behind the yellow panels, as shown in the image on the left. Of course, unless there's already an enemy engineer nested there. This location not only will get you a lot of kills, but also make the enemy team unable to walk by it. The only thing you need is to watch out for spies, as it is the most common pathway for cloaked spies to sneak through. Don't stay in one place for too long. Keep walking around and don't face the same direction for too long. Listen for the sound of decloaking and disguising! Spychecking is also a very useful. There's a lot of cover in this map, so make sure to hide your sentries behind them. Keep moving your buildings according to the movement of the payload cart!

Map Overview
Bread Space overview.png

This article is about Community Bread Space strategy.

Note: It is recommended to read the main Bread Space article first to become familiar with the names of key map locations used in this article.

General Strategy

  • This map, even though containing a lot of cover for you to hide behind, is still a very open map and you are in danger from most sides. A very useful note is that you can use the Bread Monsters forming in the radioactive puddles as a way of explosive jumping. Hitting a Bread Monster with your melee weapon causes it to explode, knocking you back. Remember to use it wisely as it deals a bit of damage and takes some time to respawn.
    • These are placed in corners around the entire map. They can be used to pick a low health player, or deal a large chunk of damage to gain the upper hand in a one-on-one fight.
