“ | What we can tell you is that all twenty of tonight's winners are going home with a handsome 100% Australium-plated Saxton Hale statuette, which'll look great on your virtual mantle, and even better buried waist-deep in the skull of one of your enemies, since it's also an in-game melee weapon.
— Saxxy Awards publicity blurb
|
” |
The Saxxy is a limited melee weapon for all classes. It is a 75% Australium-plated statuette of Saxton Hale set into a small plinth.
This weapon acts identically to the default melee weapon of each class, sharing the same statistics and abilities. As such, Spies can perform backstabs and Engineers can upgrade and repair their buildings. Its distinguishing feature, however, is that enemies killed by it will turn into motionless golden statues of pure Australium instead of ragdolls, a trait shared with the Golden Wrench. This gold effect applies to jiggle bones which freeze in place.
The Saxxy was awarded to the winners of the First Annual Saxxy Awards in their respective categories. Winning entries created by more than one player resulted in Saxxys being bestowed to each contributor; the award was not limited to the submitter.
