User Tark Eng Nope.png

Tark, You contributed to development on korean pages!

I feel honored to tell you that Korean Team determined you are a suitable prospective awardee of a honorary translator!
Will you accept the title of Honorary Translator of Korean Translation Team?
123rse (talk) 13:00, 13 January 2020 (UTC)

It would be an honor, mate. — Tark lm(pt-br) 12:44, 14 January 2020 (UTC)

for the Honorary translator

Hi Tark,

You have playing an important rule on korean pages instead of korean translators;

and your great contribution deserves respect.

I'm so glad to hear your answer,

also I feel honored to award the title of the Honorary Translator to you on behalf of the korean team.

thank you Tark, you did a great job for the Wiki and our team :D

Team Fortress Wiki:April Fools' Day/2019/April 1, 2019 Patch

Is the goal here to create a new page or move the existing page? It seems that you started it in 2016. Naleksuh (talk) 22:50, 20 March 2020 (UTC)

That page is now archived. It was a joke for April Fools' Day 2019. — Tark lm(pt-br) 23:30, 20 March 2020 (UTC)
Did you know that april fools day 2020 is less than two weeks away? I don't like the assumption that I didn't know it was an april fools page. Seems like bad faith to me. Naleksuh (talk) 01:12, 21 March 2020 (UTC)
It was a page created merely as a joke for April Fools' Day last year. If we were to do something for April Fools this year, which we very probably won't because there's no time and also no interest from the users apparently, we'd make a new page for it. The reason why it seems to be started in 2016 IIRC was because they tried to make the joke for april fool's 2016, but it ended up not happening; In 2019 there was renewed interest in doing something for April Fools so they did it reusing the page that was left over from 2016. StargazerG (talk) 02:46, 21 March 2020 (UTC)
2012 was organized in about twelve hours, so ten days is loads of time. Don't know how you got the idea that there's "no time". Plus, is there a reason you don't want to create a seperate page instead of moving the existing one? Naleksuh (talk) 17:43, 21 March 2020 (UTC)
Stepping in here. If you want to use the previous years page, IMO, you don't move the old one, you copy the parts you want to reuse to the new page. The 2019 page, IMO, should remain a record of 2019 Community event efforts, if we manage a 2020 event, it should have its own workspace. Tark, does it seem Naleksuh is volunteering? M I K A D O 282 ⊙⊙⊙⊙⊙ ⊙⊙ ⊙⊙ (talk) (Help Wanted!) 18:35, 21 March 2020 (UTC)
Yeah making a new page is what I would have done by default, the reason I moved the page is because I saw it had been moved in previous years. I'm fine with simply creating a new one. Naleksuh (talk) 18:45, 21 March 2020 (UTC)

──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── I personally think it might be better to use 1 page. So I made User:GrampaSwood/AprilFools2020. Put your ideas there, I guess. Read the note at the top.
GrampaSwood (talk) 18:46, 21 March 2020 (UTC)

Naleksuh: There was no interest in April Fools' before this discussion, while your reason for moving the page may have been in good faith, you should've asked before doing so. Please be more careful in the future. — Tark lm(pt-br) 21:08, 21 March 2020 (UTC)
Yeah i'm sorry for moving the page. I moved it because I saw that it had been moved before, but I didn't know that was because it wasn't used in 2016. And to be clear, I agree that creating a new page is a much better idea, was just trying to follow what other people were doing (and failed). Naleksuh (talk) 21:10, 21 March 2020 (UTC)

Pass it on?

Hey Tark. I don't know what kind of sway you have between the two wikis but I wanted to try again with my report. The "forgot your email" php error is still persisting on thePortalWiki and I've been away from these two sites for so long I honestly don't know who to tell to get it fixed. You're at least 'around'. Thanks again for all of your hard work across the two of them. Sven Cakemann (talk) 06:26, 29 March 2020 (UTC)

Hello! Nice to see ya! I dmed Wind again, but no reply so far. — Tark lm(pt-br) 18:46, 29 March 2020 (UTC)
All we can do is try, I suppose. Thanks Sven Cakemann (talk) 04:54, 1 April 2020 (UTC)

Thank you very much, Sir

I mentioned you are working on something about "Bilibli video", and it looks nice.

Thank you so much for keeping that little request in mind.

User Dereko Name.png 11:14, 6 April 2020 (UTC)

Question and Suggestion for Bilibili account

Question:
  • What's the nickname of the account, should we translate it in Chinese?
  • Who are responsible for managing this account? And what are the responsibilities?
  • There is an account named "TF2Video" on Bilibili, which was created by Dr.Newbie. He has uploaded TFwiki demonstration video in the past. What should we do with it? Should we negotiate with him?

Suggestion:
  • Use some information to prove that we are official. Maybe we can put a notice on the Chinese main page?
    • Not long ago, a famous TF2 Youtuber Karma Charger created his account on Bilibili, but most viewers didn't believe him at first.

Thank you again for your work, Mister Tark. User Dereko Name.png 12:01, 6 April 2020 (UTC)

Our nickname is "otfwiki" (just like our Steam Group handle). If you have a better idea, please let me know.
As for moderators, I would like them to help as much as they can. Mainly keeping the videos up-to-date and interacting with the community. I'd like to invite you for this position once the other staff members agree.
re Suggestion: We could display a banner on the Chinese main page for a few weeks. The size should be akin to this one: File:Event text.png. — Tark lm(pt-br) 12:28, 7 April 2020 (UTC)
For the nickname, I suggest use "TFwiki 官方频道"(means TFwiki Official Channel), which sounds more native and identifiable. For the banner, I would update one with Chinese text in 24 hours for you to check. Also, maybe we can translate the titles of the videos as well.

Category problem

Hi Tark, Look at the lists of 'Category:Maps_supporting_bots‎' and 'Category:Maps_supporting_bots/ru'.

'Barnblitz/ru' page listed on both lists inevitably!

Do we have to translate this Category? Joeun (talk) 10:16, 12 June 2020 (UTC)

Greetings!
We're having some cache issues, so it'll take a while for categories to catch up.
I would recommend translating categories as well. — Tark lm(pt-br) 19:07, 12 June 2020 (UTC)
Well noted, Thank you for your cooperation in this matter, Tark. :D Joeun (talk) 15:38, 16 June 2020 (UTC)

What did I do wrong this time? Is it wrong to revert someone edits that is unfinished on actual template pages?

I just want to say that I reverted that without looking the username. And previously, there's a WelcomeBOT that always told users to do the sandbox when doing changes that is not finished. And I got threaten by you, thinking it's revert without a good reason. What did I do wrong? User Hinaomi Hinaomi-sig.png Rikka Takanashi (talk) • (contributions) 12:40, 18 June 2020 (UTC)

"I reverted that without looking the username" I don't think so.
The main issue is that you broke our previous agreement. You said that you would let us know *before* reverting Boba's edits.
I've asked Boba once again to use his userspace for big edits, I'll revert his changes if he does not finish it by the end of the weekend. — Tark lm(pt-br) 15:51, 18 June 2020 (UTC)
First of all, I'm sorry for broke the agreement. As you know that you are not online on Steam and I'm easily to forget that we have the agreement, and I just noticed the name after reverted so that line is my expectation. Still, it's my fault on those. And you said that you'll keep a good watch on that, I'll just watch it until it's done or see it get revert by you if it's not done. User Hinaomi Hinaomi-sig.png Rikka Takanashi (talk) • (contributions) 00:57, 19 June 2020 (UTC)

I think it's time for him to get the punishment

As you stated in previous topic that you'll tell him to use the userspace, But from what I have seen, I don't think it's on acceptable levels.

I don't really care about why he did like this, but if you gonna turn blind eyes on that and do just warning, I don't think I can keep this problem silence anymore. User Hinaomi Hinaomi-sig.png Rikka Takanashi (talk) • (contributions) 04:16, 22 June 2020 (UTC)

Thank you for erasing my unfinished (and probably inaccurate) BLU pt pt translation.

I was stressing myself in purpose after leaving the "translation i'll be working on" summary while i was making it, as i had other things i had given more attention to, while also had been inactive in the wiki for quite some time, and i had doubts it would turn out pretty well, too, thanks for deleting my junk, so i won't have to worry about it.

Decorated Weapons

Hello, I wanted to know if it is possible to undo the removal of decorated weapons from the items dictionary, as it breaks the template for crate series #93, #94, #99 and #100. Andreng (talk) 15:13, 12 September 2020 (UTC)

I'd rather not because that format is deprecated, the substitute is decorated item. I'll set aside some time today or tomorrow to take a look at the crate series template. — Tark lm(pt-br) 17:07, 12 September 2020 (UTC)
Ah thanks for the substitute, I've reformed the templates with it. Hopefully you are okay with the changes. Andreng (talk) 11:05, 14 September 2020 (UTC)
That's perfect, thank you. I've received a few comments complaining about how long the new format was, so I've made the following as an alternative: decorated, — Tark lm(pt-br) 13:34, 14 September 2020 (UTC)

Hopeful Heart Backpack Icon Redirect Fix

Hi there, I was wondering if undoing my redirect of the Madness vs Machines Hopeful Heart 2019 backpack icon to the Titanium Tank Gilded Giver 2020 backpack icon would cause any problems. Back when I did the redirect, I was told the Gilded Giver would have the same icon as the Hopeful Heart, and both I and Swordstone, who was running the event, were pretty certain Valve wouldn't allow them to use a new icon during the medal ban -- which turned out to not be the case, and they were granted a new one. However, now that there is a new icon for the Gilded Giver, its icon is currently overriding the correct icon for the Hopeful Heart back on the Madness vs Machines article; in short, I'd like for you to restore the original purple Hopeful Heart icon to its rightful place on that article, and keep the Gilded Giver's icon the way it currently is, if possible. At least we know for sure now that new backpack icons are possible, even during the medal ban. Thanks for your help! -ThatHatGuy (talk) 05:51, 25 September 2020 (UTC)

How do you do that?

How you can replace the TF Wiki logo to a custom one?

Headquarter8302 (talk) 00:33, 2 October 2020 (UTC)

Hi! You need to add the following code to User:Headquarter8302/common.css (affects all pages, only visible to you) or User:Headquarter8302/Page.css (affects your userpage, visible to everyone): .mw-wiki-logo {background-image: url("URL_TO_CUSTOM_IMAGE") !important; background-size: 135px 135px;}. Remember to replace URL_TO_CUSTOM_IMAGE with a direct image link (eg: https://i.imgur.com/QBq8rP9.png) — Tark lm(pt-br) 23:17, 2 October 2020 (UTC)

xmas_2020 Main Menu Background

There are new colored backgrounds for Smissmas introduced this year, but I can't seem to get VTFEdit to properly export them in their fullscreen and widescreen aspect ratios. There are two of them, the same image in fullscreen and widescreen, located in /materials/console/background_xmas2020.vtf and background_xmas2020_widescreen.vtf; I would like you to properly export them and upload them to the main menu background gallery.

Tiagoquix (talk) 02:08, 8 January 2021 (UTC)

* Sempre que for possível, deixe neutro: "In Mann vs. Machine you are..." -> "Em Mann vs. Máquina você...", "... in a round of Mann vs. Machine." -> "...em uma rodada de Mann vs. Máquina."
* O acrônimo, MvM, fica no masculino em frases curtas e neutro em frases mais longas: "In MvM Mann Up Mode" -> "No modo Mann Up do MvM", "MvM Guide" -> "Guia do MvM", "...MvM server..." -> "...servidor de MvM..."
* Caso contrário sempre escreva "modo" na frente: "Present this voucher in Mann vs. Machine..."
— Tark lm(pt-br) 10:58, 8 January 2021 (UTC)

Duas things

Hi. I want to ask/talk to you about two things:
The first one is... Can I add Contributions made to the Wiki: https://wikistats.espacore.de/user/tf/Gabrielwoj to my Wiki Cap description? It's your website and I wanted to ask you first before using a Description Tag.
The second thing is... is there a reason why the Top 10 Editors on the homepage of your website is different than the Top 100 Editors? Is it a bug? I'm 3rd place on the main page but 6th place on the Top 100. Very gracias. User Gabrielwoj Signature Icon.png - User Gabrielwoj Signature 1.pngUser Gabrielwoj Signature 2.png - User Gabrielwoj Signature 3.png 19:01, 14 January 2021 (UTC)

1. Feel free to. You can replace /user/tf/ with /tfu/ as well.
2. Edit count is a bit wonky because MediaWiki counts it differently [2]. WS' Top 100 Editors scrapes the Users by edit count report page and the Top 10 Editors/Uploaders list uses Wiki Stats data (check "data" -> "edits"). I guess we could make a Top 100 list with our own data as well if there's any interest. — Tark lm(pt-br) 05:10, 15 January 2021 (UTC)

Dúvidas sobre a Wiki

Oi, Tark! Estava traduzindo um artigo aqui e me surgiu umas dúvidas.

"NPCs"?

Por ora é isso, valeu.

Tiagoquix (talk) 06:45, 15 January 2021 (UTC)

3. Deixe apenas "região de equipamento" e remova a formatação de código. equip_region vira região de equipamento.
4. Personagens não jogáveis. — Tark lm(pt-br) 06:46, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
Obrigado, meritíssimo! Tiagoquix (talk) 06:52, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
— Tark lm(pt-br) 19:12, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
Entendi a sua explicação. Valeu, digníssimo! Tiagoquix (talk) 00:17, 16 January 2021 (UTC)

linktr.ee

Hi. Can I have an exception to use the linktr.ee URL address? I tried putting on my UserPage and it stated it's a blacklisted website. I don't know if it's possible to allow individual users to say blacklisted things/URLs. I have pretty much every link of mine there, which is much easier than putting each individual link. Thanks.

Template Anchor

Tiagoquix (talk) 06:56, 20 January 2021 (UTC)

Não funciona porque você desfez as mudanças. Essa versão funciona perfeitamente. — Tark lm(pt-br) 15:22, 20 January 2021 (UTC)
Tiagoquix (talk) 21:05, 20 January 2021 (UTC)
Coloque Bat + reskins na página de destino. — Tark lm(pt-br) 21:07, 20 January 2021 (UTC)
Tá joia então, valeu! Tiagoquix (talk) 21:10, 20 January 2021 (UTC)

User:Tark/April21‎ and User:Tark/April21‎/pt-br

Hi. I recently changed the section where it mentioned "two" new AI names were added, despite being three. Only a couple of minutes after saving the page, I realized the erroneous count could be a reference to the "number 3" in the Valve-culture. If so, feel free to revert. If that was the reason, then... Potato Soup

Cooks have been puréeing potatoes into soup to thicken the texture for years, yet potatoes can also hold their own as a silky and satisfying soup, even after swapping out heavy cream for milk to lower the calorie count. Some recipes call for blending all the ingredients to ensure the smoothest consistency, but this one keeps some chunks for texture. (In fact, consider adding potato chunks for extra bulk in any soup or stew recipe to increase the comfort factor.) Topped with the typical baked potato fixin's, this soup boasts the boldness of a loaded baked potato. https://blog.cheapism.com/different-ways-to-cook-potatoes/

Should I remake the hideout page?

I just noticed that you deleted the Hideout page last year. Considering that it is now also on the Creators.TF servers. I wanted to ask you if it should be remade? - Danimations (talk) 19:57, 16 April 2021 (UTC)

Heya! Hideout was deleted because it was very barebones. There's no point in keeping empty articles around, as they bring no value for us nor players.
Custom map articles are allowed, as long as they have complete information about the map itself. I can restore the page as it was, but only if you intend to transform it into a proper article. — Tark lm(pt-br) 20:26, 16 April 2021 (UTC)
Alright, I'll try since I have the map file. - Danimations (talk) 20:31, 16 April 2021 (UTC)
Righto, it should be restored now.
Adding more images, location descriptions and changelog should improve the article quite a bit (and prevent it from being deleted in the future). Overlook and Alpen are some examples of good custom map articles. — Tark lm(pt-br) 20:46, 16 April 2021 (UTC)

Dúvida sobre as categorias

Oi, Tark.

Qual é a utilidade?

Atenciosamente, Tiagoquix (talk) 00:15, 9 May 2021 (UTC)

— Tark lm(pt-br) 20:04, 9 May 2021 (UTC)
Entendi. Tiagoquix (talk) 00:57, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

Pid Category Change

I notice you've been changing a lot of images uploaded using subst:pid from the Painted item category to the Item skin images category. These items are mostly base RED and BLU team color images, so my question is: should we change Template:Pid to automatically add the item skin images category, instead of automatically adding the painted item category, or is there a different template I should be using if I want to automatically add the item skins category instead, when I upload RED and BLU files? -ThatHatGuy (talk) 03:57, 8 July 2021 (UTC)

RED and BLU are base colors, they should be classified as Item skin, not Painted item. I'm not aware of any template that automatically does this. — Tark lm(pt-br) 10:33, 8 July 2021 (UTC)
In that case, I think we should probably make one. It should be as simple as copying most of Template:Pid over, and changing the Painted Item category to the Item Skin category. That way, we can still have an easy-to-use template to put in which does everything correctly automatically, but applies the correct category for base team colors. You can decide what its name should be, if you'd like. -ThatHatGuy (talk) 10:48, 8 July 2021 (UTC)
Not a bad ideia. I'm not very good at naming things, so please feel free to create the template. Just make sure to link it from pid. — Tark lm(pt-br) 22:25, 9 July 2021 (UTC)
That's now been completed. Unpainted item skin images can now be uploaded with isd (for item skin demonstration) and it should file it into the proper category. I've also added a note to both ISD and PID about when either template should be utilized. -ThatHatGuy (talk) 12:46, 10 July 2021 (UTC)

Weapons' Shot Type and Damage Type

Hello! Hope you doing alright. I put a discussion in March about some problems in the wiki but till today theres no one replying. So I thought I should just contact the admins and maybe they have a better way to deal with this. --AlexT 15:30, 9 July 2021 (UTC)

Hi, I've forwarded your message. — Tark lm(pt-br) 22:22, 9 July 2021 (UTC)
I just put a possible solution in the discussions. But I still need others opinions/approval before I actually do that. Maybe you could go take a look and ask other admins their opinion :D. --AlexT 06:15, 10 July 2021 (UTC)

Template:Main Page event

Hi Tark,

I've revised the main page event template again to make it a lot cleaner and easier to edit. I also fixed a few things and made it look nice and pretty with a new background color and image (don't worry, it's still the one you chose, the new one just blends with the background color now) for this year's Scream Fortress. You can view it here.

If you'd like to use it, feel free. You'll want to add the following to MediaWiki:Common.css:
.mp-event-image { margin: -1px; max-width: 100%; height: auto; } .mp-event-link { width: 100px !important;}

File Name Change

Oi Tark, tudo bem? Can you help me on changing this file’s name to “Moby Francke’s Concept Art”
I mistakenly named a file name by someone else who didn’t make the art.

Muito Brigado,

Hi! You can rename files by moving them. Just make sure to untick "Leave a redirect behind". — Tark lm(pt-br) 18:57, 10 October 2021 (UTC)
Hey, I doesn't let me. It appears as if I don't have permission to move the file. This message appears --> "The new file extension does not match its type." Yossef (talk) 19:11, 10 October 2021 (UTC)
Ah, I see. It's because the current version of the file is a JPEG.
You need to replace the file extension: Moby Francke's Concept Art.png -> Moby Francke's Concept Art.jpg. — Tark lm(pt-br) 19:17, 10 October 2021 (UTC)
